The snow-capped mountains are surrounded by a touch of fog, and the sea of flowers in Shicheng is surrounded by a lake. This is Nianbao Yuze, a paradise for all outdoor lovers.
Qinghai, Gansu, Sichuan and other Tibetan areas in China are never short of beautiful scenery, but the more natural and shocking the scenery, the more strenuous it is to move forward. Nian Baoyu is such a place. Among the “10 Top Domestic Hiking Routes” selected by the outdoor circle, the route through Nian Baoyu Ze is among them.
In the Tibetan language, Nian Baoyu is translated as the holy Songer Stone Peak. It is said that this is the birthplace of the Goluo tribes, so it is also called Guoluo Mountain. It belongs to the Bayan Har Mountains and is composed of countless peaks above 4,000 meters above sea level. The main peak is 5,369 meters above sea level. Due to the melting of ice and snow on the mountains, about 300 lakes of various sizes have been formed here.
Among them, Fairy Lake and Yaonv Lake are located in the scenic area of Nianbaoyuze. The lake water is clear, and the fish in the plateau lakes are clearly visible. In June and July every year, the flowers of Nian Baoyu are in full bloom, scattered beside the lake and under the snow-capped mountains. If the weather is cloudy and misty, the meadows on the plateau will become extremely colorful, like a fairyland, so Nian Baoyu in this season is a must-see for outdoor camping enthusiasts.
However, when Nian Baoyu came to the camp, it was not an easy task. Crossing can be divided into positive and negative crossing, and the general time is about 3 to 7 days. Because there is not much development in the scenic area, there is no corresponding basic supporting facilities, so travelers need to bring tents and other accommodation and food by themselves. There are difficult hiking trails such as swamps, streams and bushes on the way, and it is necessary to cross a pass over 4,000 meters. Therefore, except for experienced travel friends and photographers, not many people have experienced the peerless scenery of Baoyuze during the Chinese New Year.

Although Nian Baoyu has not carried out large-scale development, the crossing is basically inside the scenic area, and a ticket of 120 yuan per person is required. Renting horses and yaks in the scenic area is about 100 yuan/head.

There are generally simple accommodations at the entrance of the scenic spot, and there are a small number of herdsmen’s tents in the scenic spot for accommodation. However, it is recommended to bring your own tent for accommodation, because not every point has it.

Camping equipment must be complete, and auxiliary materials such as trekking poles can be carried as appropriate. Hiking backpacks can be carried by herdsmen, and the price needs to be negotiated.

The law and order in the scenic area can be assured. Occasionally, there will be herdsmen charging, such as camping on his pasture. In such a situation, it is necessary to greet the herdsmen in advance and negotiate a good price to avoid disputes.
How to get to Nianbaoyuze?
No matter which direction you arrive at Nianbaoyuze, you must first go to Jiuzhi County in Guoluo Prefecture, Qinghai Province. Most travel friends start from Chengdu or Lanzhou.
Chengdu- Aba- Jiuzhi County- Nianbaoyuze Scenic Area
The distance from Chengdu to Aba is about 510km. There are shuttle buses to Aba from Chengdu Chadianzi Station at 6:30 and 7:00 every day. The journey takes about 11 hours and the fare is about 140 yuan. The distance from Aba to Jiuzhi County is 69km, you can take a shuttle bus, the fare is 25 yuan per person, and it takes about 1 hour to arrive. Then take a taxi or charter a car from Jiuzhi County to Nianbaoyuze Scenic Spot, the fare is about 200-300 yuan.
Lanzhou – Maqu – Jiuzhi County – Nianbaoyuze Scenic Area
The distance from Lanzhou to Maqu is about 400km. Lanzhou South Bus Station has a shuttle bus to Maqu at 7:30 and 8:20 every day. The journey takes about 8 hours and the fare is 128 yuan per person. There is a shuttle bus from Maqu to Jiuzhi County at 6:00 every day, the distance is about 100km, and it takes about 4 to 5 hours to arrive.
Then take a taxi or chartered car from Jiuzhi County to Nianbaoyuze Scenic Spot. In addition to crossing Nianbaoyuze, you can also go to Tangke and Ruoergai nearby.
Tonk
When going to Tangke, you must visit the famous Jiuqu First Bend of the Yellow River. The first bend of the Yellow River Jiuqu is located in the heart of the grassland. The river is wide and meandering. The meandering river divides into countless river islands and small islands. The blue waves are beautiful and changing, and the scenery is very beautiful and peculiar. The distance to Nian Baoyu is about 260km.
Zoige
If you have a soft spot for plateau grasslands, Ruoergai County must be the first choice. Ruoergai County enjoys the reputation of “the most beautiful alpine wetland grassland in China” and “the hometown of black-necked cranes in China”. The distance to Nian Baoyu is about 320km.
