Last year, Cadillac officially released its brand new small SUV Cadillac XT4, which lowered the entry threshold for the Cadillac brand SUV. A few days ago, it was reported that Cadillac will release the new XT4 in 2020. Compared with the old model, the biggest change of the new car is the addition of an off-road mode option.
The Cadillac XT4 currently on sale provides a total of four modes: AWD, snow, cruise and sports. In different modes, the system will automatically adjust the working status of the engine, gearbox, four-wheel drive system, traction control system, etc. according to the working conditions of the vehicle. The newly added off-road mode will further optimize the response speed of the accelerator pedal, strengthen the front and rear axle torque distribution of the four-wheel drive system, and the working logic of the traction control system. This in turn enables the vehicle to obtain maximum traction and grip. When the off-road mode is activated, the instrument cluster of the 2020 Cadillac XT4 will also provide a dedicated display mode.
Of course, the addition of off-road mode does not really provide the ability to climb mountains and ridges for a model of the Cadillac XT4 level. Physical passability first limits the improvement of Cadillac XT4’s off-road performance. The emergence of off-road mode is more for a marketing purpose and partial self-rescue ability in extreme situations.
In terms of the market, according to GM’s official information, the brand new 2020 Cadillac XT4 will officially debut in the third quarter of this year and will be officially launched early next year.
