For a classic off-road vehicle like the Mercedes-Benz G-Class, various modifications are popping up in the global market at any time. Tuning company Ares Design has also launched a modified version of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class, and it is named Area X-Riad.
Ares Design was founded in 2015 by the former CEO of Lotus. Its main business includes design and modification. Judging from the released modified version of the Area X-Riad, Ares has re-optimized the profile of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class. Through changes in the outer cover and optimization of the main styling features, Ares has improved the Mercedes-Benz G-Class. To a large extent, the toughness of the original car has faded. Instead, it shows people with a round and technological concept car atmosphere. And this change is almost a redo of the body of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class.
The Ares X-Riad’s body panels clad around the body of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class are made of lightweight carbon fiber and aluminum rather than traditional fiberglass. This also makes even if the whole car is covered, but the weight of the whole car is only increased by 200 kg. In terms of styling details, the rounded and improved body makes the front face have a new styling style. The round headlights have been replaced by willow-shaped headlights, and an additional anti-collision bar has also been added to the front bumper. There are four independent auxiliary light sources at the roof position. The matching wheels also use exclusive 22-inch forged wheels.
The interior of the vehicle has also undergone a comprehensive upgrade, and a large area of soft material cladding enhances the luxury of the interior. At the same time, the newly added center console display hood and instrument panel hood form a whole. The seats are also wrapped in Nappa leather.
In terms of power, Ares X-Riad still retains the 5.5T V8 engine of the AMG G63, the maximum output power is adjusted to 566 kW, and the top speed is 250 km/h. The Area X-Riad is the first product from Ares, which will be followed by a fully reworked Bentley Mulsanne.
