The Bentley brand has taken another important step to realize the concept of sustainable development, introducing a new water recycling system to the headquarters factory in Crewe, England.
Bentley Motors is committed to being the manufacturer of ultra-luxury cars leading the future of sustainable mobility. After the headquarter factory in Crewe, UK, obtained the carbon neutral standard certification awarded by the authoritative organization “Carbon Trust”, Bentley Motors continued to introduce a series of advanced technologies to reduce water and energy consumption, as well as reduce the need for compensation of carbon dioxide emissions.
Bentley uses a series of reverse osmosis treatment units to ensure that the water used in the production process is free of substances that may affect the high-quality body paint. The treatment process uses high-pressure pumps to separate impurities, so as to obtain clean water that meets manufacturing standards. Previously, only 1 liter of every 3 liters of water treated by the reverse osmosis unit could be used to meet the stringent requirements of vehicle manufacturing.
Now, thanks to the installation of a new water recycling system, an additional 2 liters of water will be effectively collected to maintain the factory environment. Mr. Peter Bosch, member of the Bentley Motors Board of Directors and responsible for the manufacturing business, said: “Bentley Motors’ headquarters in Crewe, UK, is responsible for the overall design, engineering research and development, and handcrafted extraordinary cars, which are exported to all over the world. As a natural resource, water It is vital in our manufacturing process. Therefore, reducing consumption and recycling water resources are deeply rooted in the Bentley brand car manufacturing philosophy. The new water resource recycling system not only helps us achieve this goal, but also ensures that we create excellent products. A quality luxury vehicle.”
“Forecasts show that Bentley Motors is on track to recycle more than 350,000 liters of water by 2020 and use it for cleaning and maintenance in the headquarters factory area. For example, we clean about 26 kilometers of internal roads every day, and Conserve vegetation and soil in the factory area.”
“This initiative demonstrates how Bentley employees can use innovative thinking to reduce the environmental impact of the headquarters factory. Looking forward, we plan to collect more recycled water resources through rainwater harvesting.”
