On February 27, BMW Brilliance’s 3,000,000th domestically-produced BMW vehicle rolled off the production line at Shenyang Xindadong Plant. The leap from 2 million to 3 million vehicles took only 2 years for BMW Brilliance. This is another important milestone in the high-quality development of BMW Brilliance, demonstrating its rapid development and great success in the Chinese luxury car market. The 3 millionth vehicle rolled off the assembly line this time is a BMW 5 Series plug-in hybrid mileage upgrade. BMW Brilliance witnessed this milestone moment with a new energy model, playing the prelude to the company’s “Year of New Energy”. In 2020, in addition to the powerful product offensive led by the new BMW iX3, BMW Brilliance will also make full efforts in R&D and production to continue leading the future of mobility.

During the war against the “epidemic”, the good news that BMW Brilliance ushered in 3 million vehicles off the assembly line in the second week of resumption of work was particularly encouraging. On the premise of ensuring the safety and health of employees, with the support of the local government and partners, BMW Brilliance’s Shenyang production base has gradually resumed production since February 17. While doing a good job in the prevention and control of the epidemic, BMW Brilliance has contributed its own strength to maintaining normal economic and social order.

Having been in Shenyang for 17 years, BMW Brilliance has firmly fulfilled its commitment to localization. Shenyang has become the largest production base of the BMW Group in the world, with two vehicle production plants in Dadong and Tiexi, and a powertrain plant. Model production covers sedans, sport utility vehicles and plug-in hybrid models. BMW jumped to the top of China’s luxury car market in 2019, with domestically produced BMW models accounting for about three-quarters of sales. In the new year, the addition of the all-new BMW iX3 will further enrich the model series, and the Tiexi new plant and the Dadong plant upgrade project are also under construction, laying out ahead of schedule for future high-quality and sustainable development.
The Shenyang production base of BMW Brilliance is also a leader in the application of smart, green and Industry 4.0 technologies. BMW Brilliance was awarded the first batch of “National Green Factory” in 2017, and passed the annual supervision and audit of “National Green Factory” twice in 2018 and 2019.

In 2019, the BMW 5 Series plug-in hybrid once again won the sales crown of luxury plug-in hybrid models in China with sales of nearly 26,000 units. The 3,000,000th model rolled off the assembly line this time – the BMW 5 Series plug-in hybrid mileage upgrade version is based on the strength of the original product, equipped with BMW’s innovative battery technology, bringing consumers a pure electric range of up to 95 kilometers Compared with the previous product, the mileage has increased by 42%, and the fuel consumption per 100 kilometers has been further reduced to 1.5 liters. Strong product power comes from a forward-looking layout. BMW Brilliance established a R&D center focusing on new energy technology development as early as 2013, and completed the second phase of construction in 2017. In October 2017, BMW Brilliance took the lead in establishing a power battery center, where batteries for the upgraded version of the BMW 5 Series plug-in hybrid power are produced. This year, the second phase of the power battery center project will be completed and put into operation to produce BMW’s fifth-generation power batteries. The all-new pure electric BMW iX3 equipped with the fifth-generation power battery will also be officially launched in the second half of this year.
