“Bridgestone Happiness Tangram” joins hands with Ye Shiwen to build a youthful dream for rural children

A few days ago, the ten-year public welfare education project “Bridgestone Happiness Tangram” entered Sixian County, Anhui Province. With the theme of “Building Youth Dreams Together”, it helped local students’ dreams through quality education and other courses. As a global partner of the Olympic Games, Bridgestone also specially invited Ye Shiwen, the swimming champion of the 2012 London Olympic Games and a member of the “Bridgestone Team”, to participate in the “Dream Open Class” (Chase Your Dream)” is passed on to children, encouraging them to bravely pursue their dreams.

The 2 primary schools to support teaching this time are located in Sixian County, Suzhou City, Anhui Province, with limited educational resources. More than 50% of the local students are left-behind children, who lack the care and companionship of their parents. In order to allow these children to enjoy quality education courses such as aesthetic education, this time, Bridgestone established a “growth classroom” for the local school and brought more than 2,000 pieces of teaching equipment and more than 2,000 extra-curricular reading materials. Volunteers actively carried out the “Second Classroom” teaching activities, encouraging children to discover beauty, create beauty, and embrace a more colorful juvenile life through courses such as literature, art, sports, and music. In addition, special courses such as traffic safety, Olympic general education, environmental protection, and artificial cardiopulmonary resuscitation were set up this year.

In her spare time, she shares with the students her dream-chasing stories in her sports career, uses her real experience and insights to help the children understand the Olympic spirit more deeply, and encourages them to overcome difficulties and fight bravely.  

When talking about the expectations for the children, Ye Shiwen said: “The power of dreams is always great. I hope that the children can bravely pursue their dreams, ride the wind and waves, and move forward with their dreams.
