Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China released the application information for the new generation of KX3. The new car can be regarded as the domestic version of Kia Seltos, and its exterior shape continues the overall design of the latter. It is understood that the new car will be launched on September 5 at the 2019 Chengdu Auto Show. According to previous reports, the new Kia KX3 is expected to be launched in December.
The new Kia KX3 is the domestic version of Kia’s new small SUV-Seltos, and the Seltos is the mass-produced version of the Kia SP concept car. Previously, Seltos was officially released at the 2019 Delhi Auto Show, and the SP concept car was also unveiled at the Shanghai Auto Show. Now, the new KX3 will also be released at the 2019 Chengdu Auto Show in the near future and will be launched in the fourth quarter.
In terms of appearance design, the new Kia KX3 is basically consistent with the Seltos, and it highly restores the design style of the Kia SP concept car, which looks very fashionable. Although the vehicle in the declaration picture uses a monochrome body, we expect that the two-color body provided by Seltos will also be adopted by the new domestically produced KX3, and it will be a major selling point. In addition, the slender and sharp split headlights, the tiger-style front grille, and the simple rear design make it look dynamic and youthful.
In terms of configuration, the high-end models of the new KX3 will also provide panoramic images, silver body surround decoration, panoramic sunroof, ACC adaptive cruise, etc. In terms of size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4345/1800/1645 (1650) mm, and the wheelbase is 2630 mm. In terms of power, the new KX3 is equipped with the G4FL 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine of the same model as the Leading 1.5L model, with a maximum power of 115 horsepower, which meets the National VI emission standards. In terms of transmission, refer to Lingdong, and it is expected that it will also be matched with a 6-speed manual or CVT continuously variable transmission.
