The brand IVECO Iveco should be familiar to some friends. In the early years, Iveco vans could be seen in various municipal departments and transportation markets. This kind of van has opened up a new world for people to multi-functional light passenger vehicles. Not only can it take more than 20 people, but it is also divided into flat top, middle top and high top, as well as long axis and short axis. With such a subdivided configuration, Iveco can satisfy customers with different subdivided needs, making it the best-selling light vehicle king in China.
Some people may say that Iveco only makes light passenger models. To be fair, IVECO also manufactures heavy-duty trucks overseas, especially in Europe. From TurboStar (Turbo Star), to EuroStar (European Star) to the latest Stralis series, they are all popular models in Europe. But if it is said that Iveco has also built off-road vehicles, it is estimated that many people do not know it.
If you look up information about Campagnola in a search engine, you will find that there are two models with this name. One from Fiat and the other from Iveco. Fiat Campagnola launched the first generation in 1951, and the second generation model in 1974 became the car of Pope John Paul II.
What we want to talk about is naturally Iveco’s Campagnola. Judging from the appearance of the body, it seems that Campagnola is quite similar to the Defender 90 we are familiar with.
The square and tough shape is the favorite of male compatriots, and it is also what a classic off-road vehicle should look like. Although the horizontal and vertical lines have an impact on the aerodynamic performance at high speeds, in field driving and daily use, such a shape can make it easier for the driver to judge the position of the vehicle.
In addition to the quadrangular center grid and the Iveco factory logo on the front face, there are only three round lights on both sides, making the front face of Campagnola seem to be designed many years ago. The side and rear of the body are also so plain that only the windows and necessary lamps are left. It can be said that there is no modern design at all.
Some versions of the models also have sunroofs on both sides of the roof. This approach makes the similarity between Campagnola and Defender 90 even higher. Regardless of the classic shape of this model, this car was actually born in 2007.
A tough off-road vehicle appearance, but also a tough interior, is the performance of both internal and external off-road vehicles. Campagnola’s center console is clearly divided into three major areas. The left side is the driver’s steering wheel, instrument panel and operating gear lever; the middle part is the multimedia and air-conditioning area; the right side is the necessary handle and open glove box for off-road vehicles.
The overall color scheme is mainly dark gray and light gray. If such a combination is placed on an SUV, it has already been complained by consumers to the point where it cannot be added. But it seems so appropriate to put it in Campagnola.
The way to enter the rear row is to open the tailgate and sit directly, which is much more elegant and convenient than climbing in from the passenger seat. As for the layout of the seats, Campagnola and Automobile also adopt an independent layout.

However, the seat shape of Campagnola is more luxurious, and the seat belt is integrated into the backrest itself, instead of the seat belt which is independent of the seat and arranged at the rear like the Defender 90. There are also differences in how the seats are folded. The operation of Campagnola is more like that of an ordinary SUV, and the folding and rollover method of the Defender 90 is the operation of a traditional off-road vehicle.
For the power part, Campagnola uses the 3.0L four-cylinder diesel turbocharged engine used by Iveco Daily. There are two tuned versions of this engine, one with a maximum power of 150PS and a peak torque of 350Nm; the other with power parameters of 176PS and 400Nm.
The transmission system is more interesting. Usually, passenger cars will not choose a manual transmission with more than 6 gears. The Campagnola’s gearbox is similar to that of a heavy truck, with a choice of high and low gears, that is, a combination of 12 forward gears.
