On May 9, 2019, Dongfeng Fengshen’s compact SUV, Dongfeng Fengshen’s new AX5, was officially launched. It launched a total of 3 models with a price range of 85,900 to 105,900 yuan. The appearance of the new car adopts the same front face design as that of the Dongfeng Fengdu MX3 model, and it is equipped with a 1.4T engine and a 6DCT gearbox.
The new car mainly has a small change in the front face, with a new headlight shape and grille style, which is basically the same as the front face shape of Dongfeng Fengdu MX3, which looks familiar. The flat shield-shaped front grille has a grid-like decoration, and the headlights are decorated with arrow-shaped LED daytime running lights, which looks more dynamic.
The side and rear design of the body has not changed and is still the original design. The mid-range models use Wanli brand tires with a size of 215/60 R17. In terms of body size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4455*1806*1670mm. The length and height are slightly different from the current model, and the wheelbase is still 2630mm.
In terms of interior, it is basically the same as the current model, except that the screen shape is more square, and it is still an 8-inch touch screen. It adopts the WindLink Lite version system and supports functions such as voice control, 4G network, WiFi hotspot, and Baidu CarLife. The new car is replaced with a new steering wheel, of which the three-spoke shape is more fashionable, and the multi-function keys on both sides are relatively complete. The seat and space are the same as the current model. The seats are replaced with new color schemes. The rear seats are equipped with child seat interfaces, but there are only two headrests and no central armrest.
In terms of power, the new car is equipped with a DFMA14T 1.4T engine with a maximum power of 103 kilowatts (140 horsepower)/5500rpm and a peak torque of 196 Nm/1800-4500rpm. It is equipped with a 6-speed wet dual-clutch gearbox. In terms of suspension, the new car adopts a front MacPherson independent suspension and a rear torsion beam non-independent suspension. The steering system is EPS electric power steering.
