In Baga Township, where Kailash Rinpoche is located, tourism has entered the off-season, and most of the restaurants and hotels are closed. Decided to live in the car at the foot of the mountain.

Gang Rinpoche is already very cold this season, and it is said that the temples on the Zhuanshan Road are no longer open for reception. So I can only temporarily give up the idea of turning around the mountain.
Lake Manasarovar is 35 kilometers east of Purang County, Ngari Prefecture, Tibet, and south of Mount Kailash. The natural scenery around it is very beautiful. Since ancient times, Buddhist believers have regarded it as the holy land “the center of the world”. It is the second largest natural freshwater lake in China and the freshwater lake with the largest water transparency. One of the “God Lake”. It is also the birthplace of four of Asia’s largest rivers.
Mapang Yongcuo has the reputation of “the mother of the world’s rivers”. It is the place where Xuanzang, an eminent monk of the Tang Dynasty, called it “the fairyland of the West” in “The Western Regions of the Tang Dynasty”.
The “sources of the four great rivers” recorded in the “Shangshung Tripitaka, Jushe Lun” recorded by Yong Zhongben of the ancient Zhang Zhung Buddhism refers to Mapang Yongcuo, the mother of the holy lake. The Maquan River is in the east, the Kongque River is in the south, the Xiangquan River is in the west, and the Shiquan River is in the north. “Mapang Yongcuo” – “the invincible lake of jasper”, in Tibetan, “Mapang” means undefeated and invincible.
Mapang Yongcuo was first named “Ma Chui”, or “Ma Chui Cuo”, which is the name of the Guangcai Dragon King in Yongzhong’s religion. Buddhist scriptures say that there were originally four dragon kings in the four sacred lakes. At first they always made troubles and harmed the people. During the period of the Tibetan King Chisong Dezan in the Tang Dynasty, Padmasambhava showed his supernatural powers and subdued the four dragon kings, making them convert to Buddhism, and gradually became the four guardian gods of Tibetan Buddhism. Since then, “Ma Chui Cuo” has also been renamed “Ma Pang Yong Cuo”, sometimes written as “Ma Fa Mu Cuo”, which means “eternal and undefeated Jasper Lake” in Tibetan.
It is said that Mapang Yongcuo is the most holy lake, the nectar bestowed by Shengle Dazun to the world, and the holy water can cleanse the troubles and obstacles in people’s hearts. She is the oldest and most sacred place among all the sacred places of Yongzhongben religion, Indian Buddhism, and Hinduism. She is the perfect lake in the soul. She is the real paradise in this universe, Shangri-La of the gods, the paradise of all things. Hinduism says it is the abode of Lord Shiva.

Laang Tso Lake, known as Ghost Lake, (Lhanag-tso, also known as Rakshas), means “poisonous black lake” in Tibetan. It is located in Pulan County, Ngari Prefecture, at an altitude of 4574 meters. It is separated from the freshwater holy lake all the way. It is a brackish lake, so neither humans nor animals can drink its water, which is probably the origin of the name “ghost lake”.
Laangcuo Ghost Lake Laangcuo is a close neighbor of the holy lake, the scenery is equally beautiful, and the lake water is also intoxicatingly blue, but it was dubbed “ghost lake” and entered into another book. In fact, Holy Lake Ghost Lake was originally a lake. The debris carried by the glacier accumulated in the middle of the original Great Lake after the glacier melted, causing the lake bed to rise. Afterwards, global warming and evaporation exacerbated the shrinking of the glacier. causing the lake level to drop.
The geology and landforms of Laang Co Lake are different from those of Mapang Yum Co. The sand is very soft, and it is easy to get stuck in the car. You can only park the car far away and walk. The wind by the lake is also super strong, you must wear a hat, otherwise you will be dizzy.

Turning into this intersection is actually the starting point for the Ali Zhongbei Line to take measures. The fork in the road is less than a few kilometers away from Holba.
When I first entered the dirt road, I could still see the dirt houses of the herdsmen, but I never saw them again.
