As a descendant of the Yellow River who grew up on the bank of the Yellow River, the Yellow River is a real mother river, which has nurtured the sons and daughters of China for thousands of years.
And I just got acquainted with a group of warriors who participated in the rafting of the Yellow River, and arrived at the source of the Yellow River, Kariqu, but passed by in a hurry without savoring it carefully.
Recently, I have been thinking about entering Kariqu again, and I am currently making road books and other preparations. I will definitely send out a set of road books to share with everyone.

The source of the Yellow River:
Kariqu: It is a collection of two larger branches, Lalang Qingqu and Kariqu Quguo. Kariququguo originated from the northern foot of Gezigeya Mountain, a branch of Bayan Har Mountain (4830 meters above sea level, 95°55′18″ east longitude, 34°55′52″ north latitude), and there are 5 springs from the valley. Gushes out and merges into a small river with a width of about 3 meters, a depth of 0.3-0.5 meters, and a flow rate of about 3 meters per second. The river has water all year round, and the water source is more abundant. Down 70 kilometers, Lalang love song was accepted. Continue for about 60 kilometers. Blocked by Nuga Bingsai Mountain, a branch of Karinga Zhuoma Mountain, turn to the northwest and go forward for 40 kilometers. After bypassing this mountain, go east for about 20 kilometers. Then meet Maqu.
The highest source of Lalang Qingqu is the Nazha Longcha River, the source of which is the Nazaren Mountain, 2.2 kilometers northwest of Ta’ere, at the northern foot of Bayan Har Mountain (4852 meters above sea level, 96°20′23″ east longitude, 34°30 north latitude ′29″), there are three springs gushing out. Based on this calculation, it is 15.8 kilometers longer than the source of Kari Quguo and 39,430 meters longer than the source of Maqu Quguo.
After Maqu and Kariqu meet near Bayan and Qiaoshan (4300 meters above sea level) east longitude 96°51′48.4″, north latitude 35°00′15.1″), they form the original channel of the source of the Yellow River.
Kariqu is listed as the source of the Yellow River because:
1. The drainage area is larger than Yueguzong Liequ;
2. The flow of the river is larger than that of Yueguzong Liequ;
3. The flow velocity of the river is larger than that of Yueguzong Liequ.
In the autumn of 2008, the measurement results showed that the headwaters of the Yellow River took the water inlet of Zhaling Lake as the settlement point, and the lengths of several major source streams were:
Maqu (Yoguzong Liequ)-Maququ fruit: 217093.6 meters;
Maqu (Yogu Zong Lie Qu)-Yogu Zong Lie Qu (Qingniao Longwa): 222865.3 meters;
Kariququguo: 234601.7 meters;
Kariqu-Gari Aqiangkaqu-Bangkaqu: 240486.1 meters;
Kariqu-Gari Aqiangkaqu-Lalang Love Song (Laha Yongqu): 250547.1 meters;
Kariqu – Gari Aqiang Kaqu – Lalang Qingqu – Nazha Longcha River: 256523.0 meters.
In the two years since I came back from the source of the Yellow River, that beautiful place full of memories has always lingered in my mind. Since I went there by work car in 2017, I don’t have a clear memory of the route from Qumalai County to the Sanjiangyuan Nature Reserve, and I didn’t keep the GPS track. I just recorded a GPS point with a mobile phone at 95°55 east longitude. ′18″, 34°55′52″ north latitude. After a period of preparation, I searched all kinds of satellite maps such as Aowei, GOOGLE, Tencent, Baidu, etc., as well as the hand-held maps installed on my mobile phone. I consulted with my seniors and fully understood the local routes and landmarks. I made a road book.
At the end of July 2018, I set off again to Kariqu in Qinghai.
Before departure, I went to the “Yellow River Rafting Adventure Monument” on the bank of the Yellow River in Zhengzhou to pay homage to the heroes.
Day 1: Zhengzhou-Xi’an-Lanzhou (about 1100 kilometers driving for 14 hours)
Refueling 2 times on the way, lunch 1 time; stay at Lanzhou New West Lake Hotel (close to the Yellow River Mother Statue) at night, and taste Lanzhou’s special feature —– Ma Laoshi Beef Noodles next to the hotel.
The Yellow River Mother Statue is located in the middle of Binhe Road on the south bank of the Yellow River in Lanzhou City, and on the north side of Xiaoxihu Park. It is the most beautiful sculpture of the Yellow River, the mother river of the Chinese nation, in the country. It has high artistic value, and won the Excellence Award in the first national urban sculpture competition. Created by Ms. He E, a famous sculptor in Gansu Province, the sculpture is 6 meters long, 2.2 meters wide, 2.6 meters high, and weighs more than 40 tons. It is composed of a “mother” and a “baby boy”. They respectively symbolize the mother of the Yellow River who nurtures the Chinese nation endlessly and unyieldingly, and the Chinese descendants who are happy and thriving. The composition of the sculpture is simple and profound, reflecting the long history and culture of Gansu.
Lanzhou Beef Noodles, also known as Lanzhou Clear Soup Beef Noodles, is one of the “Top Ten Chinese Noodles” and is a snack in Lanzhou, Gansu Province. With the unique flavor of “the soup is clear, the meat is rotten, the noodles are fine”, and “one clear, two white, three red, four green and five yellow”, one clear (clear soup), two white (radish white), three red (white) Chili oil red), Silu (coriander, garlic green), Wuhuang (noodles yellow and bright), have won praise from domestic and even customers all over the world. It was rated as one of the three major Chinese fast foods by the China Cuisine Association and won the reputation of “China’s first noodle”. According to folklore, Lanzhou beef noodles originated in the Tang Dynasty. At present, there are historical records that Lanzhou Beef Noodles began in the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty, and the founder: Chen Weijing. After inheritance and improvement by later generations, the standard of Lanzhou beef noodles is unified with “one clear (soup) two whites (radish) three reds (spicy peppers) four greens (coriander garlic sprouts) and five yellows (noodles are yellow and bright)”. The five major steps of its production, no matter from material selection, noodle kneading, noodles, or noodles and ramen, all skillfully use the physical properties of the ingredients, that is, the extensibility and elasticity of gluten protein.
At the entrance of the hotel, I saw a top-quality bicycle, an antique from England, and it was still able to drive normally. The director of the car is very proud. He polishes the car every day before going out. It is really a good thing.
Day 2: Lanzhou-Xining (about 231 kilometers, 3 hours driving)
After breakfast, drive towards Xining. In the afternoon, visit the Xining Grand Mosque.
Dinner is at the Shalihai Restaurant next to the Gongchen Gate. Specialties: white-cut lamb, lamb neck, farm barley cake, etc.;
