A few days ago, the author learned from the Australian media that the 2020 Toyota Hilux currently on sale has completed a product configuration upgrade.
All Hilux models will come standard with a host of active safety features, including: Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Collision Warning, Pedestrian Monitoring, Daytime Cyclist Monitoring, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning with Assist and road sign recognition. Moreover, the lowest equipped Workmate model is also equipped with a 4.2-inch multimedia large screen as standard.
As a result, Toyota Hilux and Ford Ranger will become the only two models in the same price range in the Australian market that come standard with emergency braking, adaptive cruise control and lane departure warning. In addition, the niche Mercedes-Benz X-Class and Ssangyong Musso are also equipped with emergency braking, but the price is much higher.
Other mainstream pickups, including Mazda BT-50, Isuzu D-MAX, Volkswagen Amarok, Nissan Navara and Holden Crowder, do not have these active safety features.
However, with the upgrade of the configuration, the price of the car has also increased by 800 Australian dollars to 875 Australian dollars. It is reported that the price of the new car is 21,865 Australian dollars to 64,490 Australian dollars, or about 106,000 to 312,000 yuan.
