On August 6, Honda Aircraft Company (hereinafter referred to as HACI), the aircraft business subsidiary of Honda, announced that the small business jet “HondaJet Elite” (the latest upgraded version of HondaJet) independently developed by it has obtained China’s type certification.
Obtaining the type certification in China this time is another achievement of the HondaJet Elite since its release in May last year, following the type certification obtained in the United States, Europe, Mexico, Brazil, India, Japan and Canada. In terms of strength, performance safety, functionality and reliability, the HondaJet meets the most stringent standards set by the Chinese governing body, the Civil Aviation Administration of China.
HondaJet Elite is an advanced small business jet that adopts Honda’s independent development technology. In addition to the engine layout above the main wing, it also adopts a new noise-reducing engine inlet structure design, a new avionics system and safety control technology, etc. As a result, it has achieved the highest level*1 maximum speed, maximum flight altitude, maximum cruising range and fuel economy, spacious interior space and large-capacity luggage compartment. For two consecutive years in 2017 and 2018, HondaJet ranked first in the world in the delivery of small business jets*2. More than 130 HondaJets are currently in service around the world.
Since October 2017, HACI has accepted reservations for HondaJet from Chinese customers through Hongxin General Aviation Co., Ltd., the Chinese distributor of HondaJet. The distributor has a base at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport and has already received several orders. After obtaining the type certification this time, HACI plans to start delivering products within 2019.
