On July 10, 2019, the Hongqi HS7, the first medium and large SUV under the Hongqi brand, held a roll-off ceremony at the Hongqi Jilin Changchun factory. The design style of the new car is derived from the Hongqi S-Concept concept car released at the 2016 Beijing Auto Show. In terms of power, it will be equipped with a 3.0T+8AT powertrain. In addition, the new car will be listed on July 12.
Leaders of FAW Group Xu Liuping, Xi Guohua, Qin Huanming, Dong Yunpeng, Wang Guoqiang, Qiu Xiandong, Zeng Xiangxin, Lei Ping, Sun Zhiyang, principals of relevant departments and employee representatives witnessed this important moment. The mass production ceremony was presided over by Wang Guoqiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and deputy general manager of the group company.
The Hongqi HS7 is part of the brand revival plan and is the first mid-to-large SUV model of the Hongqi brand. In terms of appearance, the Hongqi HS7 has a huge Hongqi brand’s iconic straight waterfall grille. The red decoration extending from the center of the engine cover complements the red trim strip in the center of the grille.
On the side of the body, the Hongqi HS7 uses more straight lines, which are paired with double five-spoke bright aluminum alloy wheels. In terms of body size, the length, width and height of the Hongqi HS7 are 5035/1989/1778 (1756) mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 3008 mm. At the rear of the car, the taillights of the new car have a regular shape, and the interior is outlined by LED light strips, which looks more coordinated.
The shape of the center console of Hongqi HS7 is very large, and details such as the air outlet of the air conditioner use rectangular elements, and the visual effect is more atmospheric. On the center console, the new car uses wooden trim panels, with leather wrapping on the door panels and seats, chrome-plated trim strips and white diamond-shaped stitching, creating a good sense of luxury. In addition, the new car is also equipped with electronic gear handle, four-spoke multi-function steering wheel and so on.
In terms of power, the Hongqi HS7 is equipped with a CA6GV30TD 3.0T direct-injection engine independently developed by FAW, with a maximum power of 338 horsepower and a maximum torque of 445N m. The transmission system is matched with an 8-speed automatic transmission from Aisin.
