This is the Hook Road, which has gradually become famous in the off-road circle. It is located in a natural canyon at the southern end of Helan Mountain.
Nature has engraved Helan Mountain with its uncanny creativity into rugged mountains and mountains. The unique topography and landforms make this land full of mystery and legend. Tens of millions of years of accumulated water and wind erosion have formed some areas with lumpy stone terrain like pouring concrete. Because of the unique canyon landform here, people who dare to challenge the limit have found the perfect destination.
As a follow-up key event of the Heroes Club, the Hook Road climbing and crossing event kicked off on October 6th. A number of explosive Wranglers from all over the world and many off-road enthusiasts gathered in the SAFARI Off-Road Park to witness an exciting event. Thrilling off-road feast.
What is different from the past is that this time three “Thor’s Hammer” racing cars from overseas arrived, making the Hook Road in the depths of Helan Mountain even more brilliant.
Drive there, get off at the Barunbieli Exit of S218 Bayin Expressway, walk about 10 kilometers southward on the gravel road, and you will come to the SAFARI off-road park located deep in Helan Mountain.
When standing in front of this rugged, vigorous and magnificent canyon, the visual shock and impact are beyond words. It is truly incomparable and indescribable. Since the discovery and development of this classic route at the beginning of the year, it seems to have become a sacred place of “Cliff” in China. In terms of difficulty of the route, it is even worse than the “Gate of Hell” on the American Cliff (MOAB). It is gradually attracting off-road enthusiasts who advocate rock climbing, and challenging the limit has become the only reason to come here.
There are two routes in the Safari Off-Road Park. One is the ladder, with a total length of about 110 meters and a slope of more than 50 degrees. The second is the Hook Road, which is about 7 kilometers long and has complex and changeable terrain. A natural mountain, the topography of the super steep slope has become a major difficulty in the whole journey, and the ruins of the Great Wall at the top of the mountain have become an obvious landmark of the Hook Road.
It is very difficult to climb the extremely difficult ladder. According to reports, its difficulty is slightly higher than that of the gate of hell in the American cliff. It is such an insurmountable ladder. Under the leadership of JK570, accompanied by the sound of cheers from the crowd, three vehicles including Thor’s Hammer successfully climbed to the top at one time. With the super-modified racing car and the precise control of the master, coupled with the blessing of the goddess of luck, it will become easier to challenge the ladder.

After a short lunch, the real Hooker’s Way crossing begins.
JK570 still took the lead, followed by two “Thor’s Hammer” racing cars from the United States, and then warriors from all over the world came on stage one after another.
The 7-kilometer journey is extremely difficult, and it is no exaggeration to call it a “lonely road”. The winding, steep slopes and rocky roads with huge drops put extremely high requirements on the crossing vehicles. The vehicles that come to challenge the Hooker Road have basically undergone substantial modifications, such as super-long suspensions, reinforced chassis and large-sized MTs. Tires, these are strong guarantees for passing obstacles. A powerful engine is also a necessary condition for extreme climbing and crossing. We noticed that the Hammer of Thor race car from overseas is equipped with the LS3 6.2L power system from Chevrolet, which is derived from the extreme performance of GM Chevrolet Camaro and Corvico Make the car output torque up to more than 600 horsepower. American racing cars generally have at least three “big” features, and Thor’s Hammer is naturally without exception and even more extreme, with large displacement, high horsepower, large tires, and large travel.
General off-road experience is not enough here. The extremely difficult terrain is always testing the modification performance of the vehicle and the driving ability of the driver. It may be more accurate to describe the entire route as climbing. In the face of complex and changeable obstacles, the driver’s experience and wisdom often play a decisive role. In this crossing event, only two Thor’s Hammer racing cars ran the entire course from beginning to end, which lasted 6 hours. And the author also followed the whole journey on foot, but because of the steep terrain, some sections had to be climbed with hands and feet and artificial four-wheel drive. As the crossing progressed, the Thor’s Hammer racing car was more open-handed, and the crossing scenes became more wild and hot. Several extremely difficult obstacles on this road, such as Bailongju, Inclined Valley, and Crocodile Mouth, have become the key nodes to test the drivers. I have to admire the racing masters Bonny and Jack from the United States for their keen judgment and precise control. The scale of control is just right.
Walking through the Hook Road, the complex terrain makes every step full of ups and downs, and every step forward consumes a lot of patience and time. Climbing on rocks with a huge drop reflects the extreme performance of off-road vehicles, and the exaggerated posture presents the sexiest side of off-road vehicles. With the roar of the engine, the deformed tires carried the steel chariot slowly climbing up the rock, and the extremely inclined body showed strength and beauty. This is undoubtedly the most exciting moment in the cross-country crossing. The scene is full of pride to challenge the rock, and the audience’s passion has been ignited.
When asked about the feelings of the driver Bonny, he said, “The past hero meeting and today’s Hook Road are both great experiences, and I enjoy them very much. This Hook Road is gratifying and I like it Here. When I close my eyes, I even feel that this is Arizona.” According to Bonny, this 7-kilometer Hook Road is very similar to the Hell Climbing Trail in Arizona, USA, which is a famous rock climbing route.
After a day of hustle and bustle, with the twilight of Helan Mountain, the Hook Road activity ended quietly.
There is no denying that this is the most exciting rock climbing traverse I have ever seen, bar none. Classic natural routes, top-level modified vehicles, and breathtaking driving skills together deduce a wonderful rock climbing and crossing blockbuster.
There is only one cliff in the world, and only one Hook Road. Hooker’s Road is now famous, and this route has become a classic.
