Netease Automobile reported on March 28 that Changan Ford released a teaser video for a new SUV model. It can be seen from the video that the car is named “ESCAPE”, and this car name is the Maverick in North America and other regions (the Maverick in Europe and other places is named “KUGA”). However, given that the life cycle of Changan Ford’s current Maverick is still vigorous, this new SUV has no possibility of replacing the current Maverick. Anyway, let’s take a look first.
From the official data we infer:
1. This car is a brand-new model in the Changan Ford SUV family, or adopts the brand-new name of “ESCAPE”.
2. It adopts Ford’s new design language and styling style, which is closer to the streamlined shape of the new Focus on sale.
3. The left front fender and the left rear fender have openings respectively. This car may be a plug-in hybrid.
4. A “special logo” was found on the front of the exterior rearview mirror, which is suspected to be the “ST-Line” kit logo.
From the official information we guess:
1. It is expected to be unveiled around the 2019 Shanghai Auto Show at the earliest, and it will be launched in the following time.
