[E Group Overseas Report] Last year, when the Jeep Gladiator was officially unveiled, I said that so far, there will be another excellent modification platform in the modification market. Naturally, Jeep will not give up the opportunity to show the Gladiator modification program on the Jeep Easter Safari. After all, before the Gladiator officially debuted, Jeep had described its vision for the pickup truck in various ways on the Jeep Easter Safari.
Therefore, based on such a simple and simple appeal, this year’s Jeep Easter Safari has become the home of the gladiators. Jeep launched a total of six Gladiator modified concept cars on this year’s Jeep Easter Safari. And these modification plans are enough to support the future modification direction of the Gladiator.
Therefore, in the following text, we will unfold these six concept cars one by one.
Jeep Gladiator Wayout concept car:
The Jeep Gladiator Wayout concept car takes the field camper as the main modification concept, but different from the closed compartment of the camper in the traditional sense, the Jeep Gladiator Wayout concept car shows a simple camper solution.
On the basis of the original Gladiator, the Jeep Gladiator Wayout concept car adds a hunting-style gantry frame, and a steel structure top is built above the cargo box, while the original cargo box space is preserved.
Above this steel bodywork is the real living area—a monocoque roof tent. Lighting is provided by light-emitting diodes in the tent. In order to meet the installation of the roof tent and the expansion of the functional area, the Jeep Gladiator Wayout concept car also adopts a hard top structure, and adds a luggage rack and a foldable sunshade to the hard top. Inside the vehicle, brown leather forms the interior atmosphere.
In terms of improving off-road performance, the Jeep Gladiator Wayout concept car has added portable fuel tanks on both sides of the rear cargo box. The chassis of the whole vehicle has been lifted by 2 inches, and it is equipped with wading hoses and ARB air compressors as standard to realize automatic inflation and deflation of the wheels. The matching tires are quite retro 17-inch steel wheels and 37-inch mud tires.
Jeep Gladiator Flatbill Concept:
Compared with the long-distance crossing and camping demands of the Jeep Gladiator Wayout concept car, the conceptual construction of the Jeep Gladiator Flatbill concept car focuses more on the improvement of playful temperament. From some perspectives, its positioning is a continuation of the concept of ATVs in the 1990s.
In order to meet the needs of the desert, the Jeep Gladiator Flatbill concept car compresses the size of the front and rear bumpers to maximize the approach angle and departure angle of the vehicle. The front fender also adopts a lightweight high ground clearance scheme, which is very similar to the fender style of off-road motorcycles. The roof adopts a soft-top structure, the body also adopts bright green as the color scheme without hesitation, and the hood also adopts a high raised carbon fiber kit. In terms of the structure of the cargo box, the Jeep Gladiator Flatbill concept car provides a gantry and rail system that can fix two off-road motorcycles, and removes the rear cargo box baffle.
In terms of chassis, the Jeep Gladiator Flatbill concept car has been lifted by 4 inches, and the front and rear axles have also been upgraded to Dynatrac Pro-Rock 60 axles. The matching tires are a combination of 20-inch wheels and 40-inch all-terrain tires.
Jeep Gladiator M-715 Five-Quarter concept car:
M715 should be the most sentimental model of Jeep, otherwise, Jeep would not create an M715-style concept car on the Jeep Easter Safari every year. The name of the Gladiator also originated from the civilian version of the M715. Now with the debut of the Jeep Gladiator, Jeep’s M715 modification plan and its feelings finally have a better supporting platform.
From the appearance point of view, the Jeep Gladiator M-715 Five-Quarter concept car completely continues the cab style of the M715 at that time, and adopts a soft top structure. A 6-foot-long cargo box is constructed of hollowed-out aluminum at the rear of the vehicle, and the interior of the cargo box is paved with solid wood. The gantry directly constitutes the main structure of the vehicle bodywork.
In terms of chassis, the Jeep Gladiator M-715 Five-Quarter concept uses Dynatrac Pro-Rock 60 axles on the front axle and a larger Dynatrac Pro-Rock 80 axle on the rear axle. The front and rear axles replaced the leaf springs on the original M715 with multi-link and coil springs. The tires use a combination of 20-inch wheels and 40-inch all-terrain tires.
In terms of power, the Jeep Gladiator M-715 Five-Quarter concept car changed the power configuration of the 3.6L V6 and replaced it with a 6.2L V8 Hellcat engine with a maximum output of more than 700 horsepower.
Jeep Gladiator J6 concept car:
The Jeep Gladiator that debuted in the early days only provided a double-row cab, while on the Jeep Gladiator J6 concept car, Jeep discussed a modification plan for a single-row cab. The launch of this program also makes the Jeep Gladiator J6 concept car almost infinitely close to the 1978 Jeep Honcho.
After canceling the rear seats, the Jeep Gladiator J6 concept car is obviously more lean and energetic than the ordinary version of the Jeep Gladiator. With the cancellation of the second row of seats, the length of the cargo box of the Jeep Gladiator J6 concept car has also increased by 12 inches, making the cargo box the main body of the vehicle’s side proportions.
On this single-row cargo box, the Jeep Gladiator J6 concept car also added a thick gantry, and added an LED auxiliary light source above it. The style created by the whole vehicle is fully in line with the single-row pickup trucks in the 1980s. The matching 17-inch wheels are also the style of the year, matching 37-inch all-terrain tires. In order to meet the larger tire installation space, the Jeep Gladiator J6 concept car also has a 2-inch suspension lift.
Jeep Gladiator Scrambler concept car:
In the 1980s, Jeep launched a pickup named Scrambler based on the CJ-7, and this pickup became the swan song of the Jeep pickup under the Wrangler branch.
The styling of the Jeep Gladiator Scrambler concept car is completely modeled after the Jeep Scrambler of the year. The most exciting part is the punk style stickers on the body and the white gantry, which perfectly reproduces the style of the year. The only difference is that the Jeep Gladiator Scrambler concept car still uses a two-row body.
In terms of chassis, the Jeep Gladiator Scrambler concept car has also been raised by two inches, and the tire size is also a combination of 17-inch wheels and 37-inch tires. Rock climbing protective pedals are added under the body.
Jeep Gladiator Gravity Concept:
The Jeep Gladiator Gravity Concept is built with rock climbing in mind. In terms of vehicle styling, the open cab is the main body, including mesh doors and mesh roof. The lower part of the body is also fully protected with a rock climbing kit. Two cross bars and a top frame are added above the cargo box to expand the storage space. The lower cargo box is built as a slide-out drawer.
In terms of chassis, the Jeep Gladiator Gravity concept car has been raised by 2 inches and matched with a combination of 17-inch wheels and 35-inch all-terrain tires. The use of small tires also makes the style of this concept car closer to that of a normal gladiator. The kit that appears above it will also provide a good reference for aftermarket modifications.
