[E Group Overseas Report] A month ago, when Mazda officially released the preview of the new car that will be unveiled at this year’s Geneva International Motor Show, most people would think that Mazda will finally put the domestically produced CX-4 on the global market. , and some people will think that the CX-3 will usher in a new model. The problem is, when the Geneva International Motor Show came, the car Mazda announced was neither the CX-3 nor the CX-4 or the CX5, but the CX-30 in between.
From the appearance point of view, the new Mazda CX-30 is indeed worthy of this positioning. From the perspective of body length, the data of 4395 mm is just between the CX-3 and CX-4. From the perspective of the proportion of the whole vehicle, this is a product that is taller than CX-4 and flatter than CX-5, which seems to be a very moderate product.
However, the meanness in positioning does not mean the meanness in shape. As the latest product of Mazda, the Mazda CX-30 obviously applies the new-generation family features of the Big Reverse R to the shape composition of the side of the body. The large reverse R sides appearing on the front door and the rear door make this car look very energetic. On the whole, CX-30 has also done a good job of balancing the positioning of the vehicle, which not only retains the fullness of an SUV but also does not lack a sense of movement. It seems to be a balance for consumers swinging between the CX-4 and CX-5. Of course, the reality is that this car will not embarrass such consumers, because from the current point of view, it will not appear in the domestic market for the time being.
In terms of power, the Mazda CX-30 introduced to the European market is equipped with gasoline and diesel power that meets Euro VI emissions, and is matched with a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. In addition, the compression-ignition gasoline power that appeared on the Mazda 3 is also expected to appear later. The power is distributed to the four wheels through the i-Activ AWD four-wheel drive system with GVC Plus, so that the direction of the vehicle will be more in place.
As the second model built under Mazda’s new-generation family design concept, Mazda CX-30 is indeed worth looking forward to, but whether it will come to the Chinese market is still a big question.
