A few days ago, BMW released the official images of the new X5 M and X6 M, and announced that the two cars will make their world debut at the 2019 Los Angeles Auto Show that will open in November. Compared with the normal version, the new car adopts a more radical design style, powered by a 4.4T twin-turbocharged V8 engine, and the 0-100km/h acceleration time only takes 3.9 seconds.
In terms of appearance, the new car is based on the regular model, including a larger air intake grille, which makes the new car full of muscles; the waistline of the body rises upwards from the rear door, bringing a swooping posture. Of course, the iconic M-exclusive aerodynamic kit will not be absent, including front and rear surrounds, exterior mirrors, tail fins, shark gill side vents, etc., to effectively reduce the air resistance of the body.
In terms of interior, the design style of the new X5 M and X6 M is different from the aggressive appearance, and they pay more attention to the shaping of luxury. First of all, the exclusive M design elements come to the face, the cockpit functional area is newly divided, and the buttons on the central control panel can realize the settings of the engine, suspension system, steering system, M xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive system and braking system. The iDrive infotainment system will naturally not be absent. In addition, M instrument cluster, M leather steering wheel, M shift lever, red start/stop button, M sports seats, etc., highlight the characteristics of M models.
In terms of power, the regular versions of the two cars are equipped with a 4.4T twin-turbocharged V8 engine with a maximum power of 608 horsepower and a peak torque of 750 Nm. The 0-100km/h acceleration time is only 3.9 seconds. The Competition model has a maximum power of 626 horsepower, a peak torque of 750 Nm, and an acceleration time of 0-100km/h as low as 3.7 seconds. For the transmission system, the new car is matched with an 8-speed M Steptronic gearbox with 3 shift modes. In addition, the M exclusive chassis, suspension, M xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive system, and active M differential lock all appear on the two new cars.
