After launching the CH-R, Toyota’s shortcomings in the field of small SUVs were finally filled, and Toyota CH-R, as previously predicted, successfully gained a firm foothold in the small SUV market by virtue of its handling quality. However, for Toyota, it is far from enough to have a personalized C-HR layout in the small SUV market. Toyota also needs products with more comprehensive and popular product positioning.
Therefore, at the upcoming Geneva International Motor Show, Toyota will also release a new small SUV. A few days ago, Toyota officially released a preview of the new car.
Judging from the preview images, this new small SUV features tough lines as its main styling feature. The line drawing of the body has clearly indicated that this brand new product will debut with a handsome and wild image.
Compared with the CH-R with a small slip-back shape, this new small SUV obviously enhances the headroom performance of the rear row, especially the turning of the roof at the position of the C-pillar, which is very original. The use of this detail also makes the attitude of the new car much tougher in an instant.
It can also be seen from the line diagram that the complex and tough profile will constitute the main details of the new car. The shape of the wheel arches also seems to indicate that this new car will provide a considerable amount of beating to the wheels. Off-road performance deserves attention. As for the horizontal taillights at the rear of the vehicle, it is also defined as a small spoiler image.
According to the official information released by Toyota, the new car will be built on the GA-B platform under the TNGA architecture. In terms of power, it will be dominated by a hybrid system, and an advanced four-wheel drive system will also be provided. As previously predicted, cross-country passability will become the key to differentiate it from CH-R.
To be honest, just judging from the few key words released so far, this small SUV is very worth looking forward to. It is expected that new cars will also debut in China in the future.
