About Old John Eurasia Self-Drive Tour
In April 2016, Old John took 5 families with him for 160 days, starting from Qingdao, driving in RVs, and traveling around nearly 30 countries and regions in Eurasia; in April 2017, he took another group of RV self-driving enthusiasts , to travel around Europe and Asia again; in April 2018, the Old John team took 10 RV families to embark on a journey around Europe and Asia in a RV for the third time; in April this year, we took another 10 RV family, the fourth time to open a RV self-driving journey in Europe and Asia. In accordance with “international practice”, we will first report to you our current progress .
Our old John’s team this year, on April 25th, it took six and a half hours to pass through the two ports of China and Mongolia from Xinjiang’s Taxshken port, and ten vehicles successfully entered Mongolia; April 29th from Mongolia , After six and a half hours, the two ports of Mongolia and Russia were successfully cleared and entered Russia. On the second night after entering Russia, I stayed in the camp of Altai National Forest Park in Russia and enjoyed the camp life in advance . The camp is located in the Altai Scenic Area in Russia, and many surrounding Russians come here for leisure and vacation.
At present, our large forces are crossing the dividing line between Europe and Asia – the Ural Mountains, and will soon step into Europe.
This year’s team, nine families assembled in Xi’an, passed through Wuwei, Dunhuang, Hami, Turpan, and Urumqi all the way, picked up the No. 2 family in Urumqi, and arrived at Takeshken Town, Qinghe County together.
Here, we sincerely thank friends from all over the country, old and new, and partners for their enthusiastic support, help and reception to our team since we set off from Qingdao. Qinghe County is on the border between China and Mongolia, and there are many Mongolians here. On the night when the enthusiastic people in Qinghe County held the departure ceremony for us, our tour guide in Mongolia contacted me and said that their friends in Qinghe had seen our caravan team on TV .
