With the popularity of drones, aerial photography has become one of the latest creative methods.

We can appreciate the uncanny craftsmanship of natural scenery through excellent aerial photography works, and we can also glimpse rare stories happening in every corner of the world from the pictures.

The 2018 Sky City Annual Aerial Photography Contest, co-organized by SkyPixel and DJI, collected nearly 30,000 aerial photos, attracting contestants from more than 141 countries and regions.

The entries are rich in subject matter, covering nature, wild animals and urban humanities.

After three months of collection and selection, photographer Deryk Baumgärtner’s “Mont Saint Michel” (Mont Saint Michel) stood out from many excellent works and won the aerial photography annual award.

The photography team judge and wildlife photographer Roie Galitz commented on this work:

“Although the main body of the building in this photo is relatively small in the frame, it is more shocking in the ethereal clouds. I really like this way of expressing power.”

In addition to the annual awards, the award-winning works of each category are equally exciting. These exquisite aerial photographs let us see the keen observation and extraordinary perspective of the photographer.
