Porsche China announced today that its new headquarters in Shanghai has received the Gold WELL certification issued by the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI), which means that Porsche China has successfully achieved the world’s first building standard focused on human health and well-being – WELL Healthy Building The specific requirements of the standard (WELL). At the awarding ceremony of WELL certification for Porsche China’s new headquarters, Ms. Xue Ya, President of IWBI Asia, awarded Porsche China a gold-level WELL certification medal. It is worth mentioning that the new office space of Porsche China is the first Porsche office in the world to obtain Gold WELL certification.
In May 2019, Porsche moved its China headquarters and several subsidiaries to the famous Lujiazui Financial Plaza in Shanghai. The new headquarters is located on the 12th to 17th floors of Tower 3, Shanghai Lujiazui Financial Plaza Office Building, with a total area of approximately 12,000 square meters. The design concept of the new office is SPACE, namely: Intelligent, Enthusiastic, Engaging, Collaborative and Engaging. It combines new technologies, digital upgrades and the company’s long-term future development, aiming to stimulate the potential and creativity of Porsche China employees.
Dr. Yan Boyu, President and CEO of Porsche China, said: “We are very honored to receive Gold WELL certification. This historic new headquarters has become the home of Porsche China, and it has created a truly valuable environment for our employees. The workspace also reflects the highest priority we place on the health and well-being of each employee. I believe this great work environment will enhance our efficient and seamless communication and collaboration at all levels.”
After seven years of research and development, WELL was officially launched in October 2014 with the joint efforts of top physicians, scientists and industry professionals. It established a performance-based building rating system that combines best practice in building design with evidence-based scientific research. Through the performance verification of the seven building categories of air, water, light, nutrition, sports, comfort and spirit, the new office space of Porsche China finally passed the WELL test and reached the level of gold certification.
Rick Fedrizzi, Chairman and CEO of the International WELL Building Institute, said: “On issues related to the health and well-being of employees, truly leading companies are bound to choose healthy building standards based on performance verification. ; By applying the WELL certification to the new Shanghai headquarters, Porsche China has demonstrated to the world its credo that employees’ health is paramount, and such concepts and practices will help improve talent retention and maintain Porsche’s international competitiveness.”
