The First Bend of the Yellow River is located at the junction of Sichuan, Gansu and Qinghai.
The Yellow River rushes out from the source of Qinghai and flows along the left side of the eastern section of the Kunlun Mountains (also called Animaqing Mountain). The Kunlun Mountains disappear behind the grasslands. This is the origin of the first bend of the Yellow River.
This is the Yellow River seen in Sichuan Province, and it has not yet reached the location of Tangke Town. The Kunlun Mountains on the other side of the Yellow River have disappeared into the grasslands surrounded by the Yellow River, and farther away is the Xiqing Mountain near Langmusi.
This is the Yellow River seen in Gansu Province. The Yellow River passes through the location of Tangke Town. The Kunlun Mountains on the other side of the Yellow River have turned into hills surrounded by the Yellow River, and the Bayan Har Mountains are farther away.
Looking into the distance from the Yellow River Observation Deck in Tangke Town, you will see faint golden yellow, maybe rapeseed, maybe wildflowers, maybe light and shadow, no one paid much attention to it before.
Along the country road from Tangke Town to Aba County, after crossing the Baihe Bridge, turn right and pass a small village. There is an uneven dirt road that leaves the small village and extends along the Yellow River. The sea is complete and contiguous.
The largest rapeseed flower sea has more than 8,000 mu, and the smallest rapeseed flower sea has more than 3,000 mu.
In the summer of the grassland, the morning glow or sunset glow after the heavy rain often has a majestic light and shadow. The light and shadow change while dyeing the endless rapeseed flowers, which is too beautiful to behold.
The sea of rapeseed flowers by the Yellow River, the sea of rapeseed flowers in the disappearing place of Kunlun Mountains, the sea of rapeseed flowers at the foot of Bayan Har Mountain, the sea of rapeseed flowers against the background of wild flowers, every sentence brings endless associations, let alone they gather together.
There are no outsiders to see the rapeseed flowers here, and no tourists have been seen for several days. The beauty of loneliness, the cheers of loneliness.
This is the Yellow River where “the water of the Yellow River comes up from the sky and flows to the sea never to return”. This is a Yellow River that people can’t help but recite poems when they see it, and it has been staying in the Yellow River in the Tang and Song Dynasties.
Surrounding the rape blossoms are wild flowers all over the mountains. With the contented call of the yak herd, the eyes can follow the sea of flowers to the end of the world with songs and laughter all the way.
There are many dirt roads on the grassland, one side goes to the Yellow River, and the other side goes to the foothills of Bayan Har Mountain. Walking, inadvertently entered Gansu, and even Qinghai.
The first bay of the Yellow River, the wetland surrounded by the Yellow River is called Awancang. In the past, there were no bridges from Sichuan, Gansu, or Qinghai, and Awancang was isolated inside. Such long-term isolation has allowed the wetland grassland of Awancang to maintain a good original ecology, and it has also made the local people more heroic.
The Yellow River flowing in the bushes is gentle, affectionate, romantic and colorful.
There are no shops or restaurants along the way, and far away are the tents where herdsmen graze in summer. The Tibetan children in Awancang, the yaks that are full of food and drink belong to his family.
You can go just for the first bay of the Yellow River, or you can go through a colorful loop:
