After traveling for more than 20 days, I have written a lot about whether many facilities are worth installing, as well as some experiences. Only the kitchen article is not easy to write! Our country’s food culture is really extensive and profound, how should we write it? It’s very easy to write about this matter in the UK. The oven bread, milk, fries, burgers are gone… It’s too difficult to write here. Everyone’s understanding of food and cooking methods are different. I just recommend the kitchen facilities based on my experience.
Should electrical facilities such as induction cooker, microwave oven, and rice cooker be installed? In fact, these can also be written in the electrical facilities, but I still want to write it separately. Because all my kitchen utensils are cassette stoves and alcohol stoves, which are basically the same as those for playing outdoors…Many people who only use “electricity” to cook may be a little uncomfortable.
Induction cooker and microwave ovens, which are common equipment in home kitchens, are actually not suitable for use in RVs, because they are all big power consumers! The wattage is too high! And electricity is undoubtedly the most precious thing in a RV. This is why I always recommend outdoor stoves to solve the problem of RV cooking. Of course, there are some small problems with outdoor kitchen utensils. Imagine, under the watchful eyes of everyone, you set up a table outdoors and turn on the cooking mode. Passers-by will cast strange glances at you. Isn’t it a little embarrassing? In order to cook, you have to drive around looking for a place to “cook out”? Isn’t it troublesome! I traveled for 20 days, and the number of times I ate in the car was very small, and most of them were steamed rice + cooked food + cold dishes + soup. Every cooking is done in the car, the main problem is still afraid of trouble.
If you plan to park in one place for two or three days, I really don’t recommend you to use electricity to cook. Use alcohol stoves, vaporizers, cassette stoves, gas stoves and other stoves as much as possible. Usually, the power supply is mainly supplied by driving. If you park in one place for a long time, every kilowatt-hour of electricity is precious and can be used for cooking. Kind of a waste.
Of course, if you configure a generator for these electrical appliances, then you can use it however you want!
Suggestions for kitchenware:
If you have to use electricity, you can consider a rice cooker with a smaller wattage, and steam the rice to be steamed while driving. In this way, you can eat when you stop, and the electricity you use is generated by driving.
In addition, the electric pressure cooker is indeed a good thing, but it consumes electricity. You can also use it while driving! It depends on the trade-off, with an electric pressure cooker, you can cook a big meal on the road!
The alcohol pot is really a must-have good thing. If you are too lazy to cook, just cook the meat and vegetables in water… Speaking of which, I must take out the small alcohol stove I used for cooking and dry it in the sun. It is full of force !
The main problem with liquefied petroleum gas is that it is inconvenient to supply, and it is not allowed to be carried in some areas. This depends entirely on where you usually go in your RV. Tibet and Xinjiang may not work…
I have been using the cassette furnace. It is really convenient. I don’t know if Xinjiang and other places allow gas tanks. In theory, it is troublesome to find out.
The wood stove is a good thing, and it is also the most primitive way of cooking, and the fuel can be picked up everywhere. I bought the one with a small USB fan, and the top catches fire just a little bit. If you want to buy this one, you should buy a bigger one. The one I bought is too small, and someone who is boiling water is watching to refill the firewood. It’s totally okay to be a kid! But small is not practical.
Regarding food supplies:
I take the national highway on the road, often passing through the city and the county, so I don’t have to worry about supplies on the road (of course I don’t even bother to enter the vegetable market, there are all kinds of delicious small shops on the roadside).
I recommend that everyone prepare more dry goods and cooked food in the car. Dried vegetables, sausages, sausages, and pickles are always in my car.
Prepare some instant food, biscuits, instant noodles, etc. Many times you go out to play, come back late, and there is no place to eat nearby, these instant foods come in handy.
Specialties from various places, prepare more, many specialties are very cheap to buy locally, and you can still buy really fresh ones. If you don’t eat it yourself, you can also give it as a gift to friends you meet along the way!
After having a caravan, use four wheels to measure the land of the motherland. In fact, all places are not far away. If you want to eat seafood and river crabs, you only need to prepare a pot and steam them. You don’t even need cooking skills! The following is a group of photos recently posted by a friend of mine from the self-media “Post-80s RV Life”. This foodie eats seafood every day!
In fact, for seafood and freshwater seafood, it is best to keep the umami taste of the ingredients themselves. Does it sound like the Chinese rhetoric on the tip of your tongue…
The picture below is when I just got the car, when I went to Gaochun, Nanjing, the crab was given by the car friend…
Let me throw them into the pot before Gaochun came out, one word-beautiful!
Scene analysis:
The big event of eating in the RV depends entirely on the number of people!
If the family travels together and is not in a hurry on the road, one person is responsible for driving, and the other is responsible for washing, cutting and other preparations. After finding a suitable place to park for a picnic, get off the car and start cooking.
But if I’m traveling alone, I can avoid cooking if I can. I eat too much while traveling across the country, so I eat all the way. Even if you take the high speed, there is no shortage of food in the service area…
Cooking in the car or outside the car:
You can have an RV kitchen, but don’t put it in the car and try to expand outward. Although I also know that sometimes cooking outside is a little embarrassing, but try to overcome it.
No matter what kind of outdoor kitchen utensils installed on the RV, or the integrated cabinet sold by a certain treasure (all items are folded and stored in a box, which is also very convenient, but it is troublesome to open every time), they can help you solve the problem of outdoor cooking.
When traveling in an RV, try to eat outside the car, whether it’s cooking or eating…don’t ask me what to do in extreme weather, cook noodles in white water or make quick-frozen dumplings in the car, it’s impossible to starve ! There is nothing to discuss about this. Didn’t I tell you to prepare more fast food in the previous article, isn’t it just to cope with the extreme situation where you can’t cook outside the car. Never cook in the car!
Here is an example to explain why it is not suitable for cooking in the car – I cut onions, ginger and garlic in the car a few times, and ate some strong-flavored food, and the next day the car still smelled like cooking! You think about it, if you put all the frying and frying in the car, who can stand the taste! Even if a range hood is installed, the clothes and luggage are so close together, how can it not smell? Therefore, it is not valid to cook on the RV! Unless you have severe rhinitis…
I originally wanted to make a recipe for a caravan or something, but considering my cooking skills, I really don’t want to be shy! Simply say a few words and you will understand how to cook in the caravan. It is best to steam and boil. If you can not fry it, don’t fry it. As long as you keep the last two words, you can eat healthy and clean with peace of mind! How nice!
Summarize:
Regarding the kitchen part of the car, I don’t have much experience, so I can only share the problems I have encountered and the products I have used. It’s just a personal suggestion, if you don’t agree with my point of view-even if you are right, it’s okay! Just don’t mess around! Leave a message and talk well…
Finally, as an aside, I personally don’t like cooking by myself. why? Think about it, everyone, in the famous literary works, how heroes are described when they walk the rivers and lakes.
Speaking of which hero, when he came to a restaurant, Xiao Er hurriedly greeted him, bowed and asked, “Please, please, are you a top player or staying in a restaurant?” Xiao Er said: “Here is a pot of high-quality wine, pick up the dishes you are good at and cook two or three dishes, and then bring two catties of beef. After eating, I have to go on my way”…
Look what mood this is! What if you cook for yourself…
Speaking of a hero, he came to the largest local vegetable market, and the hawker at the door asked, “What kind of vegetables do you want? They are all freshly picked. They are grown at home. They are fresh…” The hero didn’t answer, and went straight to the market In a remote corner, an old man bowed his head and said timidly: “How do you sell cucumbers?”, “Three yuan for a catty”, “Is it for five yuan and two catties?”…
I go! Not quack at all! This is why I love eating out! I’ve been driving the RV for fun and cooking for myself, are you tired?
The vernacular is over! Heroes and heroes, the green mountains will not change and the green waters will flow forever. Let’s continue the vernacular RV tomorrow!
The first RV original, do you owe Sajia some attention?
