Years ago, McCarthy’s friend Hovering Eagle drove our RVBACK to Bald Mountain.
The main peak of Bald Mountain faces Gongga Snow Mountain and stands side by side with Niubei Mountain. From an altitude of about 2,500 meters, you can watch Gongga all the way up. It is a 360-degree, “three-dimensional” viewing platform in Ya’an.
On Bald Mountain, you can experience a variety of species changes at different altitudes in just 10 kilometers. Miscellaneous shrubs at the foot of the mountain, cold spruce on the mountainside, more than 10 species of alpine rhododendrons… and because there is no shelter, the view is excellent.
