Recently, a lot of riders have come to ask me about the car experience of Dongfeng Yufeng RV. It has been more than half a year, why are there suddenly more questions recently. Has the self-media platform changed the recommendation mechanism again? Old articles started pushing again? No matter, since someone asked, I will organize a separate article and summarize the problems I encountered.
The advantages and disadvantages have been summarized before, and I don’t mind saying it again.
Advantages of the windmill:
1. The space is large, square and upright, and similar models generally have a lot of top retraction. I don’t know whether it is for saving materials or to reduce the drag coefficient… There should be no VAN with the same price that can compete with Yufeng for space. . The importance of space for long-distance travel is self-evident, and this is very important.
2. High cost performance, I won’t say much about this, let’s compare the price by yourself. For the new generation 20+, the Maxus V80 is also 20,000 more expensive than the Yufeng. The only one that can keep the same price as the Yufeng is the new model, the new Transit! Jiang Ling should be applauded for this! However, the space of Transit is indeed smaller than that of Yufeng, and each has its own advantages and disadvantages.
3. The engine is good, let’s put aside patriotism, Nissan’s engine is indeed mature. The three major parts that are often talked about, the engine, gearbox and chassis, at least the first two are fairly generous to Dongfeng. For military enterprises, the workmanship is rough but the material provided is sufficient. Let’s talk about this later when we talk about workmanship.
4. Low fuel consumption, 2.5T engine, no pressure to take my “home” out, and the fuel consumption control is super good! This should be credited to the engine, right? My car now has a combined fuel consumption of 10 fuel, so I don’t feel too distressed no matter how I use diesel.
OK, the above items are the advantages of this chassis.
Disadvantages of the windmill:
1. The workmanship is rough. Yufeng is not as good as SAIC MAXUS in terms of quality control and workmanship. A little comparison can draw conclusions. Not to mention the comparison with the new Transit at the same price, it is not in the same order of magnitude at all. When it is opened, the windows will resonate, and the sealing strips are not as good as the roadside stalls. Maybe mine has something to do with the truck version? I compared it with the passenger car version, and it’s not too much difference…
2. I remember that I said in a very early video that when my car reaches a certain speed, there will be a “da da da” abnormal sound. This problem has always existed. At first I thought it was a problem with the refitting factory. Later, It was found that the abnormal sound was linked to the accelerator, and had nothing to do with the modification! Belt problems! It sounds when you step on the accelerator, sometimes it sounds when you start, sometimes it sounds when you drive to 60-80 miles, and it stops after you step on it for a while… I went to the service point to check, but I didn’t find anything wrong. The little brother in the repair shop They were all judged as supernatural events. It is indeed a sporadic event, and there is really no way to investigate it. I finally heard the sound halfway through the car, but when I stopped and hit the accelerator, the sound disappeared after a few clicks, so it was difficult to investigate. I have given up on checking what is wrong with it now, as it reminds me of the mileage, it is probably related to the first “rough workmanship”.
3. There are few service and maintenance outlets… It can be said that they are pitifully few. My first insurance was done in Shandong. At that time in Dongying, I couldn’t find after-sales maintenance. I made several 400 calls and called my maintenance station. After several calls, I stopped making the “Yufeng” model because the number of stocks was too small! Afterwards, I crossed Shandong and contacted Dongfeng all the way. Finally, I did the after-sales service in Zibo. Compared with Chase’s after-sales maintenance, Yufeng’s after-sales service is really pitiful.
To sum up, Yufeng has many advantages, but also has many disadvantages! Moreover, the rough workmanship and the lack of after-sales outlets are unlikely to change in a short time. The car is a good car, but the people who make the car are not serious…
After talking about the car, let’s talk about the modification, because users ask a lot about the experience after converting it into a RV.
How about experiencing such a thing? I said good, good, not bad… Do you think I’m coping? There is no way to quantify the experience! In fact, I have written many times about the many benefits that the RV has brought me. I feel too much inconvenience when I travel far without the RV.
But when it comes to modification, today I want to tell you another reason…
When a user asked me about my experience today, I focused on whether the “power” aspect was sufficient. I really can’t give you a definite answer to this. Everyone plays differently, I always emphasize doing subtraction! When you meet the kind of users who imagine the caravan is extremely beautiful, everyone is not in the same channel. No matter what I say, it is actually misleading you!
Simple, practical, and easy to use, that’s all I need for an RV. Electricity is a big deal for some users, but for me, it’s not important! The electricity of the RV must be used sparingly, otherwise it will not be enough. When you go to a place and need to park your car, the first choice is the place that can replenish electricity, right? Is it so difficult to find a slow-charging charging pile…Don’t think that the 800AH lithium battery can be done once and for all, it is nothing more than a longer standby time. I know many riders who have no need for “electricity” like me. It is not uncommon for a 200AH battery to be parked in one place for 10 days and a half a month…it depends on how you use it.
To make a digression, there are too many whimsical ideas on the issue of “electricity”, and I really don’t want to answer such questions one by one. It is meaningless, because everyone has different needs and different understandings of RVs. For me, the RV is just a means of transportation, it can take me out for fishing, and it is just a temporary residence when I travel across the country. I didn’t treat him as a doomsday armored vehicle. If you want to stay in one place, the best way is to have a RV with a campsite… Don’t give too much imagination to the RV, especially mine, it’s just a B-type car! You give it too much imagination, and in the end, the greater the hope, the greater the disappointment. The most important thing is that you must delay playing, because many of your imaginations are too beautiful, and no one can help you realize them.
Many riders who have persistent requirements for the off-grid ability of RVs have dual generators and extended range, and 48V and lithium batteries. They have put too much thought into this aspect, and I even feel that the cart is upside down ! If you add an electric motor to the original car, do you still need a warranty? Is there a perfect technology for you to have no problems with dual generators? What are you saying that 48V is the future trend? You all said it yourself. There are not many 48V models for million-dollar luxury cars. You are a van and light passenger, don’t you think too much? A lot of problems, in the mouths of these car friends, are “very simple to achieve”, if it is so simple and there will be no problems, why don’t the original car manufacturers directly do it? You guys belong to the “geek” style of play! It’s not for ordinary people to play. If you know how to do it yourself, then realize it yourself. It really needs strong hands-on ability and theoretical foundation, and it also needs to go through a long-term test. Do you think this kind of test is acceptable to us ordinary riders…
After the digression, every time I mention the issue of electricity, I really feel a little eloquent. A group of friends also advised me to be as polite as possible when posting. After all, many of my articles are old comrades who have eaten and met. There is no need to listen to me speaking in this tone… But every time I see the “unconstrained” imagination Sometimes, I really can’t stand it. Whether it is layout, or water and electricity, in fact, the modification industry now has a perfect solution. When it is finally realized, whether it is durable or not is nothing more than a question of whether to use domestic parts or imported parts. I have indeed seen many riders, the lithium batteries modified by themselves are not bad, are you excited? Exciting! But I definitely won’t change it! The reason is very simple. I am not an electrician. If something goes wrong, I can’t fix it myself. Why should I trouble myself? Anyway, my current electricity is enough!
When there is not enough time, I will look for charging piles, campsites, farmhouses, and various places that can help me replenish electricity. There will not be too many such extreme needs for supplies! Really encounter extreme situations, such as the inverter is broken or the battery is broken, stay in the hotel! If you go out for a month or two, you shouldn’t encounter a few times where you need to spend money to recharge the battery. If you can spend a small amount of money to recharge, why should I install a battery worth 10,000 to 20,000 yuan in my car?
Now that we’ve finished talking about electricity, let’s not talk about water. I have never been short of water, and I really can’t spread the knowledge about it to everyone. If there is no water, I will take the national highway. In every village, town, town, township, and county, there are not too many people who wash cars and add water. And the application scenario of my car is generally just me alone, and a box of water is enough for me to use for a week. It is estimated that in summer, bathing and washing clothes every day is enough for 3 to 4 days. If you are traveling as a family, the 150L water tank should be enough for 2 to 3 days.
In fact, when you are away from home, it is impossible to use water and electricity unrestrainedly like at home. You can only change your habits, because the physical space of the car is so large, it can hold so much water, and the battery that can be carried is only so small! Don’t give it too much imagination, it’s just an ordinary car! You can drive it as an SUV or MPV, so that the RV can give you a glass of water and a kilowatt-hour of electricity, and you will feel happy! If you start to give super high imagination to the car before you buy it, the final psychological gap will be huge… Those who bought the RV on impulse and sold it immediately are basically because the RV is not as beautiful as imagined! Can you blame the RV? It is you who think too much! Lowering expectations is always the way to go, otherwise the RV will always be an unattainable dream…
OK, I’ve finished talking about my feelings. If there is a conflict in the words, don’t tell me. The words are so straightforward and can’t be changed. If you are a user who has not bought a RV, after reading this article, you can understand something, which is the greatest encouragement to me.
