On July 9, after a 362-kilometer link from Ulan-Ude, the Silk Way Rally 2019 entered a new country for the first time: Mongolia.
As the first country to participate in the Silk Road Rally, the four stages run through Mongolia from north to south, connecting Russia and China. Compared with the fast stage in the Russian Far East, Mongolia has a rich and diverse topography, and the requirements for piloting are also higher. From a racing point of view, it is not an exaggeration to call the first two stages a warm-up. Starting from the 243-kilometer special stage of the third stage of the Mongolian Grassland, the 9th Silk Road Rally has entered a real contest.
On July 10, the Silk Road Rally entered the fourth stage. This stage is a circular stage around Ulaanbaatar. The start and end of the stage are located 3.5 kilometers away from the camp. In this stage, the drivers ushered in a special stage of 470.19 kilometers, which is also the longest special stage in this competition. Riverbeds, gravel, plateaus, salt lakes and endless grasslands are all kinds of roads that drivers need to challenge. The picturesque grassland scenery along the way is a benefit for drivers to strive forward. As the longest special stage, the test for each car group is more stringent, especially for mass-produced car groups that only undergo safety modification. Such a long-distance stage is a test of the quality of the car and the level of the driver. Best test.
After these two stages of competition, the quality of the Navarra racing car has been further verified. While showing us its strength, it also amazed us at the excellent quality of the car. Tao Yongming/Song Haitao, who completed the stage competition in 5 hours, 44 minutes and 45 seconds, won the first place in the op6.2 group with a relatively large advantage. Also getting better.
Zhao Xishan/Yang Rui, the other team’s team, switched their scores with Tao Yongming/Song Haitao in the fourth stage. The two teams took turns leading the op6.2 group very tacitly, and finally finished the race smoothly as the second place.
Zhao Xishan and Yang Rui used to participate in the T1 competition in the competition. This is the first time that they form a team and drive a mass-produced car to participate in the competition. However, after a few days of running-in, the two have gradually figured out the characteristics of the Navara chariot. temper. Yang Rui, the team leader, said in an interview, “T1 racing cars are driven differently from mass-produced cars. From the start of the race to now, we may only release 60% of the power. While racing, we are gradually looking for a combination of people and cars. Point. Through the running-in of the past few days, we have become more and more familiar with the racing car, this production car is really powerful, and it can give you the confidence you deserve when facing a difficult track.”
On July 12, the Silk Road Rally will end all stages in Mongolia. Let us wait and see whether the Zhengzhou Nissan Navara Racing Team can still occupy the leading position!
