Porsche adds a powerful new model to the Cayenne Coupé: The new Cayenne S Coupé is equipped with a 2.9-liter V6 twin-turbo engine with a maximum output of 324 kW (440 PS) and a peak torque of up to 550 Nm for powerful acceleration . It only takes 5.0 seconds for the new car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h, and the acceleration from 100 km/h can be shortened to 4.9 seconds after optional lightweight sports components are installed. The top speed of the new car can reach 263 km/h. The sporty character of the new car is further enhanced by a wide range of standard equipment, including: Sport Chrono Package, Speed-sensitive Power Steering Plus, 20-inch alloy wheels, front and rear Park Assist with reversing camera, and Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM). Ambient atmosphere lights, privacy glass, air-purifying ionizers, and rear side airbags are standard features exclusive to the Chinese market, which enhance the comfort of the new car. From now on, the all-new Cayenne S Coupé will start pre-sale in China, and the manufacturer’s suggested retail price is 1,236,000 yuan.
The gradually expanding Cayenne Coupé lineup has currently released four models, in addition to the new Cayenne S Coupé, the Cayenne Coupé with an output of 250 kW (340 PS), the Cayenne Turbo Coupé with an output of 404 kW (550 PS), and the total Plug-in hybrid model Cayenne E-Hybrid Coupé with 284 kW (386 PS). Many design highlights make the Coupé unique: the body proportions are sharper, the rear is highly recognizable and equipped with an adaptive rear spoiler, the rear row is equipped with independent seats as standard and the height of the rear seat is 30 mm lower than that of the Cayenne . In addition, the Coupé model also offers two different roof design concepts: a standard 2.16 m2 panoramic glass roof, or an optional streamlined carbon fiber roof, giving the new car a classic sports car look.
Innovative six-cylinder engine with central turbo layout
The Cayenne S Coupé is equipped with a 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged engine with a wide range of 550 Nm maximum torque output from 1800 rpm to 5500 rpm. The two turbochargers are placed in the central layout of the V-shaped cylinder angle, which makes the engine more compact and can be arranged at a lower position in the engine compartment. This further lowers the vehicle’s center of gravity and enhances lateral dynamics. The exhaust path between the combustion chamber and the turbocharger is shortened, resulting in a more responsive engine and faster power delivery. The exhaust manifold is integrated into the cylinder head, which not only reduces weight, but also has higher cooling efficiency. Even under high load conditions, the engine can still ensure efficient combustion.
More dynamic body proportions and unique design elements
The significantly more angular roof curve that slides down towards the rear and the distinctive coupe silhouette accentuated by the roof spoiler give the Cayenne S Coupé an even more dynamic appearance. The front windscreen and A-pillars are lower than in the Cayenne thanks to a lowered roof edge of approximately 20 mm. The redesigned rear doors and spoiler widen the shoulders of the new car by 18 mm, giving the car a more muscular shape. Every Cayenne Coupé is equipped with Porsche Active Aerodynamics (PAA), which includes a roof spoiler and a new adaptive rear spoiler. The spoiler is seamlessly integrated with the side profile of the body, and expands by 135 mm when the vehicle speed reaches 90 km/h, thereby increasing the downforce of the rear axle and improving the driving stability of the vehicle.
