Erhai Lake
Erhai Lake is the second largest freshwater lake in Yunnan. It is called Erhai Lake because it looks like a human ear. We drove around the Erhai Lake, and walked the 120-kilometer Huanhai Road for nearly 8 hours. We stopped and walked slowly, sighing and enjoying the beautiful wonders brought to us by nature.

Due to excessive development in recent years, Erhai Lake has been seriously polluted. The water quality in some areas is no longer crystal clear, and garbage floating around the lake can also be seen faintly. I sincerely hope that this place, which has always been called “the flawless and beautiful jade among the mountains”, will have a good ecology and return to my true colors.
The Erhai Lake seen during the tour has been surrounded by various flowers and plants. Many brides-to-be are posing among the flowers, all of them smiling like flowers.
There are many ways to travel around the Erhai Lake. In addition to self-driving tours, you can rent a small electric donkey, which is more relaxed and enjoyable; you can also rent an open-top off-road vehicle, which is cool and stylish; You can even walk on foot, it only depends on your physical strength, endurance and speed.

Dali Sea Tongue Ecological Park
Haitong Park – This is a long sandbar facing the water on three sides of the Erhai Lake. From the map, it looks like a tongue extending from wide to narrow into the Erhai Lake, hence the name Haitong Park. There is no very special scenery here, but it is still beautiful and makes you want to stay for a while. Haitong Park is free of tickets. There is a long way to go before entering the park. There are several carriages on the road busy soliciting customers back and forth, forming a flowing scenery.
Leaving Haitong Park, we continued to drive forward. There is a section of road that deviates from the Erhai Lake. Under the scorching sun, we are still looking for the beauty that belongs to Cangshan and Erhai with great interest.
Shuanglang Ancient Town and Yuji Island
are located in Shuanglang Ancient Town on the northeast side of Erhai Lake. This is a small fishing village, known as “the first town of Canghai scenery”. When we went, many ancient houses on both sides of the road were being renovated. Along the way, it was like walking into a large construction site. It was very messy and did not feel like an ancient town at all. There are several islands around the ancient town, and you can go all the way to the end. Next to it is Yuji Island. The island is famous for the private villa of dancer Yang Liping and the green house of painter Zhao Qing. There is no ticket for Shuanglang Ancient Town, and the ticket for Shangyuji Island is 10 yuan.

The ancient town is close to the Erhai Lake, and there are sea-viewing inns all over the sea.
On the side of the road, I saw the Yang Liping Art Museum.
Yuji Island is famous for the Sun Palace and Moon Palace of the dancer Yang Liping. There is an intersection on Yuji Island. After paying the 10 yuan ticket, go down the steps and pass the Golden Dragon Cave. On the right hand side is the residence of the dancer Yang Liping, known as the Moon Palace.

Between the Moon Palace and the Sun Palace, there is a villa called Qinglu, which is the residence of the famous artist Zhao Qing.
Going down the steps again, passing the first line of sky, next to Yang Liping Art Hotel.
After passing the hotel, you will arrive at the sightseeing platform, and you will see the front of Yang Liping’s Sun Palace
The most peculiar thing about Erhai Lake is the trees growing in its water. The incomplete dead trees have luxuriant branches, or there are occasional buds, which testify to their tenacious vitality. The tree and the water are integrated, which is the harmony of nature. It is so beautiful that I always have the urge to go under the tree to enjoy the cool air.
It may be the fishing moratorium now, and there are rows of small boats docked on the shore.
On the east side of the Erhai Lake, you can see a small pocket island in the water. According to legend, when Guanyin opened the Dali Dam, he left a seal of Zhenhai on the sea here to calm the wind and waves and keep the fishermen safe. This is the small island. Later, the fishermen built Guanyin Pavilion on the island, so they called the island Little Putuo Island.
No matter how thick the clouds are, they can’t block the sun’s rays. The lake under the backlight is so beautiful!
Walking and walking strayed into the “painting” environment. The blue sky is the backdrop, the wind is the brush, and the white clouds are the ink. The magical nature has created a masterpiece of flowing clouds and flowing water.
The awning boats moored in the lake add a little taste of Jiangnan to the Erhai Lake under the backlight at this time.
