In the Buddhist system, if Esoteric Buddhism is born in the world, then Theravada Buddhism is in the world; while Zen, at least a group of temples represented by Shaolin Temple and Putian School, gradually aim at commercial profits, and even set up limited companies (some Professional CEO), I don’t know if it counts as direct secularization, or a new development trend of Buddhism in the new era? In this context, those cultivators who maintain the state of being born out of this world are commendable.

Yongzhongben religion is also known as ancient Zhang Zhung Buddhism, which originated in the “Gangdise Mountain” and “Manasarovar Yumcuo” of ancient Zhang Zhung in Tibet. The ancient Zhang Zhung civilization has a long and splendid history, and has been included in the scope of protection of world cultural heritage. From the perspective of Tibetan history, “Zhang Zhung” is almost synonymous with the entire ancient west. After Indian Buddhism was introduced to Tibet, it merged with the traditional Zhang Zhung culture, and then formed various schools of Tibetan Buddhism.

There is an essential difference between primitive Bon religion and primitive Buddhism: Bon religion believes in all things, and Buddhism believes in Buddha. A more obvious external feature reflects the difference between Bon religion and Tibetan Buddhism: the scripture turning direction of Bon religion is counterclockwise, while that of Tibetan Buddhism is clockwise.

Attachment: Brief Introduction and Script of the Divine Dance of the Year of the Rooster at Zizhu Temple “Bliss and Hell”

The Divine Dance Dharma Assembly held once every twelve years is the most grand Buddhist event in Zizhu Temple. Every year in the year of the rooster, tens of thousands of pilgrims gather at this snow-covered holy temple at an altitude of 4,800 meters without hesitation. The most fascinating thing is the divine dance drama “Ultimate Bliss and Hell” (also known as “Ultimate Bliss and Hell”) staged during the Fa Conference.

God dance is a religious ritual dance performed by monks during the celebration of Tibetan Buddhism. During the dance, monks wear various masks to play different roles, wear robes and ribbons, which not only has the meaning of saving all living beings but also brings It has strong religious and cultural overtones.

Compared with the divine dances of other monasteries in Tibet, the “Bliss and Hell” dance of Zizhu Temple is different. It is performed only once every twelve years, and every time it blesses all sentient beings to achieve the awakening of the world and the rebirth of the soul. . The divine dance drama is arranged according to “Sang’alinba Says Yama’s Ten Judgments of Good and Evil Sutra”. Sang’alingba is a famous terma master in Tibetan Buddhism. He has opened many termas in his life, including dense Tathagata statues (dense Tathagata is one of the main Tathagatas in the six major inheritance systems of Tantric Buddhism), many Buddhist scriptures, “Zizhu Mountain Buddha “Trace Records” (this records in detail the deeds of the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas and achievers in Zizhu Mountain, including the footprints left by Amitabha Buddha). “Sang’alinba Saying Yama’s Ten Judgments of Good and Evil Sutra” records the master’s experience of visiting hell in the bardo. Later, the master passed on this scripture to Zizhu Temple, and entrusted it to be performed in the form of divine dance to transform sentient beings.

The divine dance “Bliss and Hell” takes the “Ten Judgments of Yama” as the main axis, showing the law of karma between good and evil. There are ten acts in the whole play, which are performed by monks with profound practice. The plot shows Yama’s trial of ten people, including good and evil masters, good and evil monks, good and evil officials, good and evil civilians, and good and evil women. “The principle of “prompts people through the accumulated karma to enter the good way and evil to the evil way. The whole performance will strongly bless and shock people, making people reflect on this life and this life, realize the rareness of the human body, the pain of reincarnation, the truth of cause and effect, and pray for early liberation. Master Sang’alingba taught: Divine Dance has a powerful blessing power, and those who are lucky enough to see it three times will not fall into evil ways! At the same time, it is predicted that Zizhu Temple will become an important place to promote Buddhism in later generations.

The performance of the divine dance takes more than half a month, and more than ten days of chanting. After many prayers, elimination of karma, blessings, salvation, etc. as a foreshadowing, it is not until the last day that the performance of the divine dance is performed. All sentient beings who can witness the puja in their lifetime will receive incomparable blessings and spiritual liberation.

The most recent one was the God Dance Dharma Assembly in July 2005. A few days before the Dharma Assembly, there was a rare auspicious snow on Zizhu Shenshan Mountain. Living Buddha Ding Zhen predicted that the Dharma Assembly would be held auspiciously and successfully, and the Dharma would be promoted. Sure enough, the event was unprecedentedly grand, including nearly 200,000 disciples from the mainland who participated in this rare event. This also indicates that the compassionate power of Buddhism in this teaching will benefit more sentient beings in the future.

1. Introduction of the author, Master Sang’alingpa

Master Sang’alingba was born in 1863 AD. He is a famous terma master in Tibetan Buddhism. He has opened many terma in his life. The master came to Zizhu Mountain in 1926 (at the age of 63), and opened many treasures in Zizhu Mountain, including the Sangwaduiba Buddha statue (Sangwaduiba is one of the root Tathagatas in the three major inheritance systems of Tantric Buddhism) , many Buddhist scriptures, “Zizhu Mountain Buddha Records” (this records in detail the deeds of the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas and achievers in Zizhu Mountain, including the footprints left by Amitabha Buddha). At the same time, Master Sang’alin also passed on “Sang’alinba’s Sutra of Ten Judgments of Good and Evil by Yama” to Zizhu Temple, and entrusted this sutra to be expressed in the form of divine dance to transform sentient beings. The master once predicted: Divine Dance has a powerful blessing power, and those who are lucky enough to see it three times will not fall into evil ways! At the same time, it is predicted that Zizhu Temple will become an important place to promote Buddhism in later generations.

Three. Postscript

Master Sang’alingpa’s Autobiography

After these ten trials, I heard a loud noise in the universe. I asked the jailers what it was, and they ignored me. I just feel so small and vulnerable. Is there another person to be sentenced? At this time, the jailers brought a child who was only eight years old, and I sincerely aroused bodhichitta.

Suddenly everything in front of me disappeared, I heard two masters calling my name, and I saw the tablet for saving me.

Master Yixi Lama said: “You are not dead, you have focused on your thoughts and made yourself present some scenes in the original and pure state.”

I “returned” to the human world again. Although my body was tired, my heart was very peaceful. The master recited the Longevity Sutra and gave me medicine.

I think this mission has been accomplished! Tashi.
