Recently, the first Yangtze River Delta Creative Design Joint Exhibition kicked off in Shanghai Wisdom Bay Science and Technology Park. As a representative of manufacturing in Shanghai, SAIC Roewe brought its blockbuster models to the joint design exhibition. Its smart-connected hard-core medium-sized SUV Roewe RX5 MAX stood out from many innovative design achievements with its “smart cockpit” and won the 2019 Yangtze River Delta Creative Design Intelligence Forum in one fell swoop. The Yangtze River Delta is a major economic center of the country, and General Secretary Xi has incorporated the integration of the Yangtze River Delta into the national strategy. As an important force to boost economic development, design innovation has received more and more attention. In response to the national call and to speed up the economic development of the Yangtze River Delta, under the guidance of the Shanghai Municipal Economic and Information Commission, the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, and the Yangtze River Delta Regional Cooperation Office, as well as the relevant economic and educational departments of Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Anhui, and Shanghai Baoshan With the support of the District People’s Government, Shanghai City of Design Promotion Center, Shanghai Municipal Education Commission Science and Technology Development Center, and Shanghai Wisdom Bay Culture and Art Center co-hosted the first Yangtze River Delta Creative Design Joint Exhibition to grasp the winning formula of design innovation.
In this joint exhibition, a total of 40 colleges and universities and 30 intelligent manufacturing companies and design institutions from the fields of automobiles, aircraft, medical care, and artificial intelligence participated in the exhibition, creating a feast of inspiration in an exhibition hall of more than 5,000 square meters. The only award-winning real car, the Roewe RX5 MAX, is a major focus of the exhibits. On the spot, Shao Jingfeng, deputy chief designer and global design director of the SAIC Motor Technology Center and chief designer of the Roewe RX5 MAX, presented the design to guests from the municipal government and the Yangtze River Delta region. The professors of the college introduced the design concept of the Roewe RX5 MAX. He pointed out: “The design must go up to help the brand go up. This is the path that must be taken.” The world’s first mass-produced smart cockpit Roewe RX5 MAX is a blockbuster work of Roewe brand design breakthrough and brand improvement. The smart cockpit “endows space with emotion, and intelligence with EQ”. The combination of large-area stretched linear aesthetics and technological elements such as a 14.3-inch 2.5D four-curved glass screen realizes the harmony and unity of oriental humanistic care and technology. The Roewe RX5 MAX also reshape the value connection between the cockpit space and people. It is equipped with intelligent technologies such as SKY EYE system, BYOD multi-user control, Internet car intelligent system 3.0-Pro, and realizes interactive means, interaction to communication, and focus on drivers to attention. The three major upgrades for all cabin crew members have led the Chinese auto industry into the era of smart cockpits.
In addition, the Roewe RX5 MAX adopts a strong and rhythmic design that fits the “hard core spirit”. The design and exquisite craftsmanship show the highest level of Chinese intellectual creativity.
Since its establishment, Roewe has continuously polished its own design skills, and its products have won international design awards such as Germany’s iF and Japan’s G-Mark, and are widely recognized around the world. This year’s Yangtze River Delta Creative Design Joint Exhibition, Roewe RX5 MAX won the award as a representative of automotive industry design, which is a demonstration of the design strength of the Yangtze River Delta and a signal of the continued rise of Chinese automotive design.
