At the New York International Auto Show in April 2019, Volkswagen exhibited Basecamp, an off-road concept car based on Touron. The concept car is built based on the appeal of camping. In the bottom part, the use of lifting kits and all-terrain tires strengthens the visual tension of Touron. On the upper part of the body, the Volkswagen Touron Basecamp concept car adds a roof loading platform so that the owner can expand the roof function in the later stage.
