Since its official independence, Genesis, a high-end brand under Hyundai, has steadily achieved good sales in the North American and Korean markets. After laying out the three sedan products of G70, G80 and G90, at the beginning of this year, Genesis’ first SUV, Genesis GV80, was officially unveiled. A few days ago, Genesis GV80 was officially launched in North America.
To be honest, the Genesis GV80 is indeed a good product. The design of Korean cars that always seems a bit overworked presents a very elegant side on this GV80, which is positioned in the luxury car camp. From the configuration point of view, the new Genesis GV80 launched in the North American market has three configuration levels, which are standard, advanced and noble.
In terms of price, the entry-level Genesis GV80 starts at $48,900, or about 340,000 yuan. The entry-level version of the standard configuration only provides rear-wheel drive, matching with a 2.5L turbocharged engine with a maximum output of 224 kilowatts.
The configuration comes standard with heated seats, reversing images, driver assistance systems, etc. Generally speaking, the standard version of the Genesis GV80 will not look too shabby. The starting price of the four-wheel drive version is US$54,650, or about RMB 380,000.
The high-end model will be equipped with a 3.5T V6 engine with a maximum output of 276 kilowatts. The version equipped with a 3.5T V6 engine is equipped with a standard four-wheel drive system. The starting price is US$59,150, or about 410,000 yuan. The top version is priced at US$70,950, or approximately RMB 490,000. In terms of configuration, comprehensive configurations including 22-inch wheels, head-up display, active noise reduction system, etc. have also been added.
How to put it, since its debut, the Genesis brand has continued the Hyundai Group’s cost-effective image, and the performance of the product itself is not bad, so it quickly gained a foothold. And its success, in my opinion, can be used as a model for local brands to move towards high-end. By the way, according to the plan, the Genesis brand is expected to land in the Chinese market within the next two years.
