In Yunnan, a place where you will never get tired of visiting a few times, there is a small town that amazes the world and is full of poetry.
Legend has it that the sky here is the closest to heaven, and it is the place where dreams begin.
White clouds, sunshine, blue sky, grasslands, cattle and sheep, rhododendrons… are faintly in the ear like the sound of nature.
Walking into Shangri-La, whenever the melodious singing sounds, the feelings will be infected, as if returning to the years of youth.
Shangri-La not only has a long history of Yunnan-Tibet civilization, but also has rich natural scenery. If the time is tight, you can just feel the nature and humanity of Shangri-La in 2 days.
route overview
D1: Gadan·Songzanlin Temple—Dukezong Ancient City—Dukezong Ancient City in Shangri-La City—Guishan Park—Dukezong Ancient City in Shangri-La County—Moonlight Square
D2: Pudacuo National Park
Songzanlin Monastery
The buildings of the temple are scattered and orderly, layered up according to the mountain.
Yuan Wang is somewhat similar to the Potala Palace in Lhasa, and because of its grand scale, it has the reputation of “Little Potala Palace”.
Entering the temple, there is a long ladder in front of you. If you have to walk through these 108 steps, you cannot turn back.
The guides leading the team will talk about the culture of Tibetan Buddhism, calm down and listen, feel their awe of life and gratitude for the gifts of nature, and experience the belief and piety of the Buddhist family.
The gilded cornices look even more exquisite under the blue sky and sunlight. The breeze blew by, adding a bit of agility to this otherwise ordinary house.
In front of Songzanlin Monastery is Ram Yangcuo Lake, which is said to be the soul-sending lake of the Goddess Bandan Ram.
Lamuyangcuo Lake is not big, but it has a great reputation in Tibetan areas, and the scenery is extremely beautiful. There are various waterfowls living in the lake in four seasons, and waterfowl such as black-necked cranes and yellow ducks can be seen everywhere.
Whenever there are major religious activities, monks and believers will accompany eminent monks to the lake to chant scriptures and pray for blessings. On weekdays, local believers often come here in groups to visit the lake, release animals or burn mulberry trees to pray.
Dukezong Ancient City
The ancient city of Dukezong is the best-preserved and largest Tibetan settlement in China, and it is also the hub of the ancient tea-horse road.
The architectural layout of the ancient city is like an eight-petaled lotus flower, with Moonlight Square in the center surrounded by quaint Tibetan-style wooden houses one after another.
The ancient city is well preserved, built near the mountains, with undulating stone roads, and has a long memory.
Flower pots and banners of strange colors are placed everywhere, and the irresistible fragrance and color are blown into the nose with the wind. Under the shroud of sacredness and beauty, the attributive words of time and the emo of the ukiyo , the pursuit of ancient myths once again filled the gap in Xinhai’s soul.
The Guishan Park in the ancient city was built in the Kangxi period. It was built on the mountain. The top of the mountain is the Chaoyang Building. When you climb to the top of the building, you can have a panoramic view of the Sun and Moon City. At the foot of the mountain is an ancient well that can be drunk by the whole town, which is clear and sweet.
The Guishan Temple and the prayer wheel in the park are the most distinctive buildings in the park.
Moonlight Square is located at the foot of Guishan Park. At night, it turns into a happy and leisure resort for local Tibetan people. Tibetans and tourists of all ethnic groups circle around and dance passionate Tibetan dances.
Pudacuo National Park
Some people say that Shangri-La is the pure land in many people’s hearts, and they must go once in their life, so Pudacuo is the pure land in the pure land.
Shudu Lake
The water of Shudu Lake is clear, and the small fish swim leisurely at the bottom. Surrounded by forests that block out the sun, there is also a pasture with flocks of cattle and sheep by the lake, full of the joy of life in Tibetan areas.
Clouds move quickly under the blue sky, clusters of meadows grow in the lake, and the sky and distant mountains are reflected in the water, just like a landscape painting.
Most of the trees here are very old. They have unique beards that hang down long. These trees are extremely precious, and they can only grow like this in places with good ecology. They’re less refined, but incredibly real.
bitahai
In Tibetan, Bitahai means “a sea made of oak trees”, which means a green felt with dense oak trees by the lake.
The scenery of Bita Lake is more exquisite than that of Shudu Lake. There are many trees that look like banyan trees along the way, and they gracefully cross the plank road. Through the shadows of the trees, they look like Jiangnan gardens in the camera.
There is also a plank road on the shore of Bitahai Lake. Walk along the plank road slowly to reach the lakeside wharf. There are cruise ships in the lake, and you can visit the mountains and waters around the lake.
Miritang
Located between Shudu Lake and Bita Lake, Militang means “Buddha-eye-shaped meadow” in Tibetan, and it got its name because it looks like a slender Buddha’s eye.
In this fairy tale world, everything feels unreal. Along the way, plateau lakes, virgin forests, wild animals, yaks, and grasslands are worth stopping to appreciate slowly.
The prairie under the blue sky and white clouds can not help but make people intoxicated. For a moment, I want to put aside all troubles, ride horses, feed sheep, and be a carefree herdsman.
Xiagi Tibetan Cultural Ecotourism Village
The village is located on the Eastern Ring Road of Shudu Lake, Bitahai and Baishuitai, and is the first stop of the Shangri-La Cultural Corridor.
This is a beautiful and relatively primitive small mountain village, surrounded by mountains and rivers, with picturesque scenery.
Xiagei Village is surrounded by primeval forests, surrounded by mountains and rivers, with picturesque scenery and rich folk customs. It is a typical Tibetan village.
