Leaving Guatemala City, we went to Antigua and found a B&B on the outskirts of Antigua with parking.
The environment is very good, and each person has a room.
I can see the volcano directly from my window
The balcony on the second floor is also very nice
The owner of the homestay is an artist living in the United States. The family is guarded by several Mayan descendants. The descendants of the Mayans were not tall.

We need to drive for more than 10 minutes to enter the city, and the parking in the city is on the street.
The ground is paved with stones
The bus is a school bus. I wonder if it is a second-hand one transferred from North America?
Antigua is a small city in southern Guatemala, built in the Panchoa Valley at an altitude of 1,500 meters.
It is surrounded by four volcanoes: Agua, Acatenango, Fuego. and Pacaya (Pacaya).
As early as 1543, the city of Antigua was the capital of the Spanish colonial era.
In 1773, a major earthquake occurred and the entire city of Antigua was destroyed, so the capital was moved to Guatemala City. Some of the buildings damaged by the earthquake that year were preserved as a whole and can be seen today.
Today the city is protected as a World Heritage Site.
Central Park is a place where locals and tourists alike come to visit and take a break.
There are local Indians in national costumes in the central garden. They are not tall, usually between 1.4 and 1.5 meters.
Next to Central Park are the Cathedral, City Hall, Governor’s Palace and other buildings.
Even those who take wedding photos come here.
There are still soldiers on the streets
The landmark of Antigua – the yellow bell tower, is also a commercial pedestrian street with a lot of traffic.

The ice cream at the door tastes very good.
Mobile stalls on the street sell peanuts, peas, and dried fruits.

When we were driving in the city, we suddenly saw thick smoke.
It turned out that the Fuego volcano was smoking. When the Fuego volcano erupted on a large scale in June 2018, more than 100 people died and more than 300 people were missing. We are going to check out the nearby active volcanoes, please stay tuned.
