At the beginning of the month, I was still reading Mr. Wang Zengqi’s collection of essays. Mr. Wang Zengqi is a person who loves to play and eat, and his writing is very plain and open-minded. That day I happened to read his article when he traveled to Xinjiang. The Xinjiang he described always makes you feel the heavy sense of history. There is also the beautiful scenery that can make you think about it just by words. I want to see it and experience it.
It is about 4,500 kilometers from Jiangxi Town to Xinjiang Kanash National Geopark. It is the rainy season in the south, and the place is always covered with wet rain stains. The sky is always dark and gray, and it will rain at any time. Prepare food, emergency supplies, etc. needed on the road, and a group of people talking and laughing. Exploring the unknown is always interesting. For the unknown distance, I am yearning and have a little palpitation.
on the way
The day after the departure, the car arrived in Shaanxi, and took a commemorative photo while queuing up to pay the toll. This road is divided into several people to change, it is not too tiring. Lu Xun’s space is more comfortable for four adults, and there is more than enough space to put down the needed items when there are no people in the trunk. In addition to its vehicle quality, it is an excellent choice to undertake this long-distance self-driving task.
Pass by the Jiuquan service area, take a photo and consider it a visit! There is no chance for an in-depth understanding. In the past, words such as Jiuquan Launch Center were often heard on news programs or newspapers. Other than that, not much is known. The sky here is really blue, it is rare to see a little bit of white in the sky, the blue is a bit deceiving.
Baiyun came out, and we are here too.
Kanas, the pure land on earth
Kanas in September is a bit cool, we went to see Kanas Lake. Kanas is Mongolian, meaning “beautiful and mysterious lake”. From a high distance, it is also difficult for you to see where it leads. The lake under the snow-capped mountains is very green. Occasionally, something ripples from the surface of the lake, like the condensed bean skin when boiling soy milk. Very textured.
Kanas has a different appearance in each season, and it seems that it is about to dress itself up as a fiery girl to welcome the arrival of autumn. Eyes full of greenery, this is a gift that Kanas gave us that cannot be taken away, so I can only take a standard photo of tourists as a souvenir.
God’s private land – Hemu
The yurt is isolated in the endless green prairie, surrounded by countless sheep and horses eating grass leisurely, and there is also a man riding a horse with a whip. This kind of scene is in line with the prairie I imagined. But just like the scattered stones in the picture, it is more or less obstructive.
Standing in the distance and looking at the village of the Tuva people, submerged in a vast expanse of whiteness, it is difficult to distinguish whether it is smoke or clouds. The blurred and hazy picture does feel a bit of a paradise, a bit of a land of gods.
The sky is a bit dark, and the ground is covered with distinct yellow and green grass. The Tuva village is surrounded by woods on three sides, and the remaining side is next to the Hemu River. If you look carefully, it looks a bit like a Swiss postcard scene. Walking into the village, the distribution of houses is relatively scattered. Most of the houses are built with wood. I can’t tell what kind of tree it is, but it is probably white birch.
Birch, relatively rare where I grew up. It may grow on the river bank. The birches here are tall, but the branches are not very thick. When there is a wind, there will be a “swish” sound. The yellowed leaves on the ground and the grass from green to yellow also announced that autumn is coming. We move on to the next stop.
Express from north to south to Kashgar, the gathering place
The ancient city of Kashgar is the largest city in southern Xinjiang. Zhang Qian, the special envoy of the Western Han Dynasty in ancient times, once visited this place, and what he saw and heard was written into the “Book of Han”. The houses in Kashgar are mostly built with raw soil. The color of the houses is yellow or slightly pink. The architectural style is very western. I can’t say why. The streets and alleys of Kashgar City are very charming, and you will lose your direction if you are not careful.
There are many craftsmen in Kashgar, most of whom we rarely see. There are shops that make shoes for horses (horseshoes), and there are shops that make shoes for people by hand. Most of the shopkeepers are also elderly. I think there are not many young people who are willing to take over.
Go to Khunjerab to see the majestic border gate of the motherland
Stay in Kashgar for one night, and depart at noon the next day to Khunjerab to see the border post of the motherland at an altitude of 4733 meters.
Khunjerab Port is an important pass on the ancient Silk Road. Because the altitude is too high, the air is thin, the weather is unpredictable, and the environment is very harsh. Such an environment is not only a challenge for people, but also for cars. Therefore, before I came here, I specially added a set of Danish superchargers. The improvement in user experience in the past month is quite obvious and reliable. Feel different situations of low power due to low oxygen in high altitude areas.
The supercharger kit installed before departure is still very good after a month of use.
I don’t know whether the camels in the snow are wild or free-range. I am very curious.
On the way up the mountain, the road was deserted. The snow-covered mountain seems not far away, but Wangshan is running dead.
The big brother in the same industry, the angular shape is very classic. Quality of course needless to say.
Apart from using such a standard “visit here” photo to record it, I really can’t think of any other way. The gate of the country is very majestic, but the weather here is bad, and there are many, many things to endure. Every soldier who fights for the country is worthy of respect.
Tasha Trail
The Tasha Ancient Road is a road full of difficulties and obstacles, and it is also the road for Tang Xuanzang to learn and return. This section of the road has beautiful scenery that will make your heart flutter, as well as desolate and inaccessible areas. The eyes are enjoying this journey, but the body is really difficult.
The river on the Tasha Ancient Road is lighter than the green of Kanas Lake, but it is more lively. It rolled and followed our footsteps all the way, and when we stopped the car, it stopped making noise. Only the sparkling green lake surface remained.
To the Taklimakan Desert
The convoy has been covered in wind and frost since the assembly was completed. The exterior of each car was covered with a thick layer of dust.
Taklamakan is called the “Sea of Death”, and it is full of yellow sand as far as the eye can see. Being in it is like only the yellow of the earth and the blue of the sky are left.
Don’t go in without being fully prepared, so let’s take a look at the roadside. The eyes are full of yellow sand, and the rolling sand slopes in the distance are like waves in the sea.
Pass through the beautiful Duku Highway.
I flipped through the photos and found one thing: the water in Xinjiang is very green. Could it be that there is too much loess, and God thinks it needs a little green embellishment?
Every color in Xinjiang is brilliant and leaves a deep impression on you. The snow-capped mountains in front of you are like a cup of delicious ice cream covered with icing to lure you. You will never feel tired in such a beautiful scenery. A view like this always piques your interest.
Dushanzi Mountain Canyon
This is really the first time I have seen such a spectacular sight. People like me who don’t read many books can only bark like a dog when they get here. I really don’t know how to express that feeling.
