As one of the most famous companies in the world for modifying Land Rover Defenders, East Coast Defenders has launched a modified version code-named ProjectViper (Viper), which is well known to everyone. The Viper is powered by a 6.2L LS3 V8 engine with a maximum output power of 430 horsepower, front and rear LED spotlights, 20-inch aluminum alloy rims equipped with off-road special tires, domineering exposed.
ECD has launched two new modified versions of the Land Rover Defender, code-named Project Ironhorse (iron horse) and Project Punisher (punisher). Compared with the Viper, the direction of these two modifications has reduced off-road performance (including appearance), and is more inclined to the luxury route. Generally speaking, it is a hand-crafted version of the Defender that combines off-road and luxury.
As far as the powertrain of the “Iron Horse” is concerned, it is equipped with a 6.4L V8 engine that can be traced back to the original Land Rover Defender, and it is matched with a ZF four-speed automatic transmission. As for the interior, the classic Land Rover dashboard reminds the car of its age, but to keep up with the times, a new multimedia infotainment system such as Apple CarPlay and smart Android connectivity are equipped. In addition, the new Wireless charging seems to take you from the days of the Defender to the 21st century in one fell swoop.
The seats are equipped with a heating function, and the black leather wrap is coordinated with the color of the dashboard. The classic wooden three-spoke steering wheel is retained. In addition, new stainless steel brake hoses, fuel lines and a Borla exhaust system were also modified.
Contrary to the “Iron Horse” project’s idea of retaining the classic original appearance of the Defender as much as possible, the “Punisher” project can be said to be an ECD customized version of the Defender. Under the hood is a new GM LC9 V8 engine with a maximum output of 326 horsepower, matched to a new six-speed automatic transmission, and also includes a Borla stainless steel exhaust and Ron Davis radiator. As for the transmission system, GM also provides a two-year 80,000-kilometer warranty service.
For the interior, a new Puma instrument panel has been added, equipped with a Kenwood infotainment touchscreen, which also supports Apple CarPlay and Smart Android connectivity. In terms of appearance, the new 18-inch black serrated aluminum alloy rims are equipped with BF Goodrich all-terrain TA K02 tires. At the same time, a roll cage, LED lights, a new bumper and a winch are added to the exterior of the body, and the chassis is galvanized.
The person in charge of ECD said that after a long period of conception and work, each modified version of the Defender makes maximum use of the current modification technology and new materials, and at the same time is constantly innovating, trying new styles and technologies to realize the comprehensiveness of the Land Rover Defender. modified.
