D40 Hami~Dunhuang
There are really no scenic spots in Hami that I think are worth taking the time to visit. On the contrary, Dunhuang and Emerald Lake behind are more attractive.
Speed limit almost all the way
I ate here at noon, and when I got home, I received a ticket from here (not walking according to the marking line).
The altitude here has dropped to more than 1,000 meters.
The ticket for Mogao Grottoes was not available that day, so I booked a ticket for tomorrow morning.
Then hurried to Mingsha Mountain Crescent Spring.
Mingsha Mountain is located seven kilometers south of Dunhuang City. In ancient times, it was called Shensha Mountain and Shajiao Mountain. Mingsha Mountain is named for the sound of sand moving. It was called “Shajiao Mountain” and “Shensha Mountain” in ancient times. The mountain is formed by the accumulation of quicksand, about 40 kilometers long from east to west, about 20 kilometers wide from north to south, and the highest altitude is 1715 meters. “Sand Ridge Qingming” is one of the “Eight Views” of Dunhuang.
Surrounded by Mingsha Mountain, Crescent Lake is about 150 meters long and 50 meters wide. It got its name because the water surface resembles a crescent moon. At the foot of Mingsha Mountain, there are many medicinal materials such as apocynum and wolfberry in the scenic area. It has been one of the “Eight Scenic Spots of Dunhuang” since the Han Dynasty, named “Yuequan Xiaoche”. Crescent Moon Spring is nearly 100 meters long from north to south, and 25 meters wide from east to west. The spring water is deep in the east and shallow in the west, and the deepest point is about 5 meters. It bends like a crescent moon, hence the name. There are four wonders in Crescent Moon Spring: the shape of the crescent moon remains the same through the ages, the clear stream in the bad environment turns into a spring, the sandy mountains are not submerged in sand, and the old fish in the ancient pool are not old.
See the 2 people climbing up the blade (on the sand ridge)?
D41 Dunhuang ~ Mogao Grottoes ~ Dachaidan
There are too many things on the Mogao Grottoes website, so I won’t waste any more time.
The farmhouse where I stayed last night is next to Mingsha Mountain Scenic Area, 120/night. It is estimated to be several hundred on weekends and peak tourist seasons.
The street lampshade is very distinctive
go around
This is a newly repaired road, no signs, no guardrails, just run!
See there’s another road on the left? There is nothing in the middle except for this small ditch. This road was repaired, and there was no one in sight for dozens of kilometers, so I ran back and forth on two roads (because the map and navigation, this section of the road is parallel to the G315 and the high speed).
