The American modification company AEV has launched an off-road touring car based on the Wrangler JK series. And named it Wrangler Outpost No. 2. Unfortunately, the Wrangler Sentinel II is currently only available as a performance display. Reservations are not accepted. It seems that the products based on the new generation of Wrangler JL will be the focus.
Compared with the ordinary version of the Wrangler JK, the Wrangler Outpost II has changed a lot. This is largely because this generation of Wrangler does not offer a pickup version. In order to meet the needs of the rear RV space, AEV lengthened the rear overhang of the Wrangler JK and canceled the rear seats. And the suspension system was redesigned accordingly.
From the perspective of body form, if the rear cabin is removed, the Wrangler Outpost II basically looks like a pickup truck. Compared to the regular Wrangler, the Wrangler Sentinel II has 4.5 inches more suspension travel. In terms of power, it is equipped with a 5.7L HEMI engine, and an additional wading hose is also added.
In terms of off-road performance improvement, Wrangler Outpost II also provides configurations such as competitive bars, rear-view camera system, and rear competitive fenders.
As the rear living area, which is the focus of vehicle modification, when AEV defined its outline, it took more consideration of the coordination with the vehicle surface, so overall, the integrity of Wrangler Sentinel II is very good. There will be no bloated feeling of a traditional C-type RV.
Inside the living area, the Wrangler Outpost II uses a retractable power roof to expand the interior space. When the roof is in the stowed state, the increased vehicle height is not large, which can better meet the needs of off-road crossing.
In terms of daily necessities, Wrangler Outpost II has prepared two kitchen areas, one inside the vehicle and one outside the vehicle. The two kitchen areas share a 50L refrigerator and a steel stove. LED lighting and sunshades are also provided on the exterior of the vehicle. The internal water storage is 22 gallons, or about 83L, which can meet daily use. Electricity in the car can be powered by 265-watt solar panels on the roof.
