Kubuqi means “bowstring” in Mongolian. It is 400 kilometers long, 50 kilometers wide, and the sand dunes are 10-60 meters high. It looks like a yellow dragon lying across the northern part of the Ordos Plateau, across the three banners of Inner Mongolia. What we are paying homage to is Kubuqi in the Hangjin Banner section. The Kubuqi Desert is the seventh largest desert in China and the closest desert to Beijing. One of the sources of this spring’s sandstorm, which has made people in the capital change their colors, is the Kubuqi Desert.
On July 28, 2015, the 13 greening achievements of the seventh largest desert in China won the 2015 Land Life Award issued by the United Nations. The 2015 LandLife Award was presented by UNCCD, the Convention on Desertification. Founded the Kubuqi International Desert Forum. As famous as tidying up the Kubuqi Desert is that many off-road enthusiasts visit and conquer here every year!
In April 2019, the Aowei off-road vehicle will be here for the eighth time.
