The output characteristics of constant power and constant torque of the electric motor make it no longer difficult for the vehicle to obtain a better acceleration performance and driving quality. Therefore, there is a trend of pure electric vehicles rushing towards high performance.
At the Los Angeles International Auto Show in November this year, the new generation of Toyota RAV4 PHEV model was officially released, and it was named RAV4 Prim in accordance with Toyota’s hybrid family naming rules.
Under the basic architecture of Toyota’s THS-II hybrid system, the plug-in hybrid version of Toyota RAV4 Prim further strengthens the output performance of the electric motor, and THS-II uses planetary gears instead of gearboxes, which also allows it to retain Smooth output characteristics after power coupling of electric motor and internal combustion engine.
After strengthening the output performance of the electric motor, the acceleration time of the new generation Toyota RAV4 Prim from zero to 100 kilometers is shortened to 5.8 seconds. In pure electric mode, the cruising range of the vehicle has also been increased to 63 kilometers. After the electric motor and the internal combustion engine are coupled, the system output power reaches 302 horsepower.
The new generation of Toyota RAV4 is based on the GA-C platform under the TNGA architecture, and a notable feature of the GA series platform under the TNGA architecture is that it further strengthens the layout friendliness of the hybrid system.
This also makes it possible for the new generation of Toyota RAV4 Prim to lay out a larger battery pack on the floor without affecting the normal use of space in the car. What I have to say is that in the field of hybrid power, Toyota’s strength is very strong.
From the appearance point of view, the new generation of Toyota RAV4 Prim has added exclusive 19-inch wheels, new headlights, front bumper, and rear spoiler details compared to the regular version. Thanks to the powerful power output, the new generation of Toyota RAV4 Prim has also become the most powerful model in this generation of Toyota RAV4 series.
So, the question arises, should BYD come to fight against it?
