After fierce competition, Porsche is on the podium of the World Endurance Championship for the fourth time this season. Defending champions Kévin Estre and Michael Christensen rounded out the six-hour race in Austin and finished second in the GTE-Pro class.
French driver Kévin Estre and Danish driver Michael Christensen drove their Porsche 911 RSR racing car developed based on the high-performance road sports car 911 GT3 RS. They completed the race without encountering any yellow flag areas in 173 laps, and were short of the championship Only 4.210 seconds. However, their teammates Italian Gianmaria Bruni and Austrian Richard Lietz suffered misfortune. Due to a technical failure, the Porsche 911 RSR of #91 lost three positions. In the end, this car finished seventh in the GTE-Pro Pass the checkered flag. In the constructors’ championship, Porsche remains second. In the GTE-Am class, Project 1’s Matteo Cairoli of Italy, Egidio Perfetti of Norway and Laurents Hörr of Germany took third place in the 2017 Porsche 911 RSR.
